Comedienne with the real name Maryam Apaokaji, popularly known as Taaooma has recently apologized to Nigerians for visiting Vice-President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.

Recall that Taaooma, including other skit makers, paid a visit to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday under the aegis of the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards, led by its promoter, Bimbo Daramola.

Other skit makers on the delegation were Josh Alfred (Josh2funny), Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba), Adebamiro Adeyanju (Mr Hyenana) and Adeoye Adeyemi Elesho (Yemi Elesho).

Talking about the visit, Taaooma earlier revealed what she discussed with the Vice-President. According to her, she represented the youth, adding that she spoke to Osinbajo about the Twitter ban and police brutality.

On Instagram she wrote:

"Yesterday, I had the chance of meeting with the VP of the federation at the Presidential villa, Abuja. I urged for the “actual” lifting of the Twitter ban and as well, stressed on the issue of police brutality which hasn’t gotten any bit of change even after all the promises,"

"I made the presidency understand how important Twitter is for the majority of us (the youths). The SMEs and the very plenty others who make a living via that platform. The Twitter ban has made so many small scale business crash and disrupted many."

"I also made it known to the VP that Police brutality hasn’t stopped and we the youths seem to be the target of that institution. #Endsars was not just to end SARS alone, it was to end all forms of police brutality and irresponsibility,"

"I hope the assurances I got yesterday will take effect immediately. However guys, we must know that we the youth make 70% of the population and we have the future in our hands. The next step now is to GET YOUR PVC!!! #ENDSARS #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY #LIFTTWITTERBAN ✊"

See Some Reactions From Nigerians Below:

arewaboiy: "Did you remember to ask them face to face “who gave the order” for #endsars #lekkimassacre and not coming on social media ranting as if you guys truly care. So unfortunate we don’t even know who we are anymore as a people, everybody fighting for their comfort zone. 😢 Nigerians I hail thee 👏"

omodaratitilope: "Posting Video evidence could have makes us believe all the good points you stated."

hiamthiana: "Sorry oo but this one no follow 😂😂😂 if they want to unban they would have since gbogbo eleyii na format."

Taaooma took to Twitter to apologize. In one of her apology messages, she wrote:

“Hey guys, I’m apologizing once again. I had clear intentions and nothing more.”

Meanwhile, Aisha Yesufu, a popular Nigerian Activist exhorted Taaooma saying that she need not apologize since she knows her intentions were pure and is what should matter most to her.

On Twitter The activist wrote,

"You do not need to apologise to anyone! You did not do anything wrong by having a meeting with the VP."

Aisha Yusefu also added that it doesn't matter which way one chooses to achieve something what really matters is the intentions of achieving such.

"There are different ways of achieving something. It is never one way and it is okay whatever way one chooses. Intentions are what count and you know yours!"

She continued by recalling what a Prophet said about actions and intentions, she said actions are judged based on intentions of taking actions.

"Remember the Prophet (SAW) said Actions are judged according to intentions and that is all that matters. Your intentions are what should matter to you."

She adviced that what people thinks about us should not matter, what should matter to us should be our thoughts.

"What people think or say must never matter. What we feel alone with our thoughts is what should matter the most."

What do you think about this issue? Do you think she did a right thing by apologizing to Nigerians?
