Beyond the Vote

Making a difference starts small

Every election is very important as we are choosing people we believe will make differences in our community, our state, our country, our economy; all aspects of our lives. The options on who to vote for are not going to be Ideal for everyone, yet the voting is necessary for putting someone in charge of specific tasks.

You have voted, is that it?

Is that the only thing you can do to make a difference?

Do you just go back to normal routines of work, home, occasionally time with friends and family and nothing else?

Do you just wish there is something you can do or that someone else could do to help others?

There are always people in need of help around the world and in your own community. Right now there are many homeless or in need of help and not enough shelters or programs with funding to help everyone.

We are on a limited income ourselves, yet with prayers and working together, our family personally donate items of clothing, food, books, personal hygiene products, etc. to the soup kitchen, missions and Catholic Charities & Churches when and where we can. We have even given people/families temporary shelter to get them off the street and into housing. We have given people work in our yard, driving, shopping cleaning for us, whatever we could afford to help them out. We have joined local groups on Facebook where people who need help with food, bills, clothing, housing, repairs, work, etc. can post their needs and others can offer resources or reach out personally to help those who are in need.

It is so overwhelming knowing that with as many people in our community that need help, Every town/city, state/country; have so many more people who also need help.

It is really sad that our Government is so limited in what help people can get through them; this is why it is important for us all to help each other daily.

What difference will it make if you do?

All the difference in the world to the person/people you help! Touching someone’s life in a positive manner builds Hope! We all need hope and to know we matter.

Why put forth the effort?

Why not put forth the effort? You don’t loose anything and gain so much in return just knowing you helped someone who was starving, needed clothing, donating furniture; volunteering at the soup kitchen or shelter.

What about the COVID-19, what about.....etc,etc???

Get tested, wear a mask (gloves if needed), practice safe and social distancing. Use common sense to stay safe and don’t use this as an excuse to ignore what is going on around you and to do nothing.

Making a difference starts with one act of kindness, asking nothing in return for yourself, asking others to reach out and help someone else in return. That is a huge reward in itself, starting a ripple of positivity.

Get involved in your neighborhood watch, besides keeping each other safe, you will know who needs help around where you live as well.

How can we expect our Government to do it all? We have to help each other even in light of voting because voting is only one step On a ladder and we can’t go any further without the other steps.

Please get involved in your community or your Governments party campaign and help educate others as to what is available and where they can find resources!

Go Beyond the Vote to be there for the People, We are the People.
