A Plethora of Perceptions

Continuation of the human species requires a diligent awareness of the problems that can affect humanity’s existence. The only way that we can bring awareness to our problems as a species is through a conscious effort of compiling and organizing these problems. As the HCRC, we have endeavored upon this task of building a version of this humanity’s problem repository. A repository of this nature would be comprehensive and allow not only an awareness of the problems themselves yet help begin a baseline understanding of how the problem came to be, as well as what solutions we may ponder to begin solving said problem. This can seem great and its use as a tool to positively progress our global human civilization is ideal, to say the least. One can easily shift perspectives and zoom out to see that are potential problems that could arise from the creation, governance, and enforcement of a repository of this nature that dictates which problems take precedence and which do not. Hence the importance of analyzing these pitfalls before the humanity’s problem repository, which is intended to be a tool, becomes a cumbersome problem within itself.

When we begin to think about compiling a humanity’s problem repository, we must understand the importance of building it with integrity. To ensure that the humanity’s problem repository is structurally sound and can withstand we must analyze the potential pitfalls that can occur when we are trying to build a list that comprehensively details, classifies, and prioritizes a problem that is facing humanity. The most concerning of these pitfalls that could occur is a miss prioritization based on a perception bias due to a centralization of power that controls the repository. As human beings, we must understand that we will always have our prior experiences in our existence to base our perceptions of the present and the possibilities for the future off of. This can entail that any specific human being may consider a specific problem a higher priority and dedicate more resources to that specific problem since the problem is impacting that specific human being in a personal manner. One can only begin to speculate how a perception bias could cause favoritism among certain problems, which of course can end up discrediting the concept of the humanity’s problem repository.

The question is how we can adjust for this potential perception bias that is due to occur and ensure that the proper checks and balances are in place upon the creation and governance of a humanity’s problem repository. If we look at the root of the issue we can determine that having limited perceptions dictating which problems are important and will receive support to be solved, then the most apparent solution to this problem is to ensure that there are a plethora of perceptions that are involved in the creation and governance of a list of this nature.

The subject of governance around a repository of humanity’s problems is a matter a balancing global perspective and ensuring that we obtain agreements among human beings on how we conduct ourselves as a species on Planet Earth. As the Human Civilization Reformation Coalition, we firmly believe that a humanity’s problem repository is a necessary tool that we must leverage if we are to positively progress the human species. In addition to this belief, it must be known that we do believe that other organizations, institutions, governments, groups, and even individual contributors should participate in the same activity of creating their list of problems facing humanity. This may sound counterintuitive to the end goal of aligning the human species’ awareness of problems that may affect our existence and the efforts to find solutions to those problems, yet we must understand that this condition comes with a cavoite. The only way that this approach works is if we come together as a species on a reoccurring basis in a publicly broadcasted event that allows a list to be submitted, and a final humanity’s problem repository to be decided upon.

An event and decision process of this nature can, of course, have its issues and by no means is immune from the forces of corruption from one or more entities. Consider this a core conceptual proposal on how to ensure that we gain a balance of global perceptions rather than a complete operation manual on conducting an event of this nature. Nonetheless, there is no reason why we cannot utilize technology to ensure that an event of this nature is a known global event, which we would propose to occur on an annual basis. It could almost be compared to the Olympics. Rather than focus on the spirit of competition through sports, we can focus on the societal changes needed to positively progress humanity through the spirit of synergy. The gains we can receive as a species from coordinating and cooperating in a global event such as this is it would not only allow tangible progress through the creation of the list and the alignment among many sects of our global human civilization, it would also begin to create a culture shift that would allow more and more young human beings to become interested and involved in our global human civilization. This, in turn, can create a culture within our global human civilization that is aware and concerned with the problems that are facing humanity.
