For 2020, the spring/summer runways made one thing abundantly clear: retro style is in. What goes around eventually comes around. This statement is true for many things, including movies, books, and songs, and it also applies to fashion. Fashion trends are constantly making a comeback. As people draw inspiration from previous decades, it is not surprising that the fashion trends for 2021 are a mash-up of styles from various decades. I thought that many styles were no longer available, but they have returned to prove that wrong. Be it flamboyant floral prints reminiscent of the 1960s, high-octane shimmer in the form of floor-sweeping gowns reminiscent of the disco era, modern takes on 1970s crochet, and chic paisley dresses with a decidedly retro vibe.

Here's a look at some of the retro fashion trends that will be making a comeback in 2021-

1. Boho Dresses

Bohemian-style dresses frequently have a decidedly '70s vibe to them. Modern paisley prints have been identified as a must-have for summer 2020 by designers ranging from Etro to JW Anderson and Zimmermann. There's a retro-style paisley print dress to suit every style, and it's suitable for both day and night.

With a high neckline and flutter detailing along the sleeves, try out ruffled cotton-voile mini which is both sweet and demure. The belted linen maxi has blouson cuffs for added volume and a refreshing retro take on ladylike style. With a belted waist, round neckline, and long sleeves, jersey midi is ideal for highlighting your shape after sundown.

2. Wallpaper Floral Designs

Floral prints will always be a popular choice in the summer or the fall. It is the time for soft, vintage-inspired wallpaper florals and the mark they have imprinted on us. With the added patterns like puff sleeves and frilled trims, the fashion trend is getting popular day by day. Cotton poplin is ideal for casual-chic, while soft tulle and chiffon feel more fanciful when translating this vintage trend for the heat.

3. Crochets Craze

Crochet has a handcrafted feel to it, but after tops, dresses, and skirts were seen on the runways of Jonathan Simkhai, Altuzarra, and Isabel Marant, the knitted look was firmly established as refined for summer.

Neutral colors enhance the vintage feel of clothing and accessories, as popularized by the mini dresses, crochet-and-chainlink shoulder bags, midi, and crochet-and-leather hammock bags.

4. Tie-Dye

It takes an experienced hand to make tie-dye look artfully elegant. Whether worn head-to-toe or as a colorful accent, this retro-style trend harkens back to the 1970s while remaining achingly fresh for the hottest days. Look for tie-dye pieces in soft pastel tones for the ultimate sophistication.

5. Silk Scarves

Silk scarves were popular in the past, but their popularity has dwindled over time. They were never truly gone, though. We could always catch a glimpse of these on one of the celebrities. However, the trend has returned and will likely continue for some time.

They can be seen everywhere, from silk scarves on heads to silk scarves around the neck to silk scarves around the waist to turn them into tops. You can never go wrong with a silk scarf, whether you want to look fashionable or hide a bad hair day.

6. Puff Sleeves

Exaggerated sleeves have been around for a while and appear to be gaining popularity in 2021. These sleeves are available in a variety of styles, including leg-of-mutton, Juliet, balloon, and many others. Whatever variation you choose, this statement piece will always look like the perfect blend of romantic and classy.
