When I first saw the color of the year; it took me a minute to think about it as it reminded me of Pantone’s color of the year in 2018. To see the similarities; visit my Pantone 2018 Color Ultra Violet post.

Similar to Ultra Violet; Very Peri is all about helping us “embrace the landscape of possibilities.” However, this color definitely looks more purple, than blue.

In the same fashion, Very Peri was chosen based on what is happening in our global culture. At the same time, this color incorporates blue and a violet-red undertone.

So every year, Pantone chooses a color of the year looking at trends and current events. Their experts look for color influences in art, entertainment, fashion, travel, and lifestyle. In addition, they look at technology, social media platforms, and national events.

Though, Pantone has said they wanted to come up with a new color; do you think they were right in their choice?
