Fashion Illustration Art
For some of us it is about design and flowing but, then it isn't. A lot of us quit before we can get started. First and foremost you have to have the desire to want to do it. If you want it bad enough it will happen! But, it's really easy to get rattled. Fashion illustration has and always will be linked to fashion design. There is an awfully big scope to this industry and it can be terrifying!

How to Select Wardrobe for a Shoot
If you are looking to do editorial shoots, portraiture, or any sort of fashion photoshoot, then you already know how important the style elements will be in the overall outcome of your work. It makes sense; these kinds of shoots are more about the clothing and model than anything else.

Why Firenze?
When walking down the timeless streets of Florence, Italy, it is unavoidable to see fashion bouncing between buildings. From hundreds of different dazzling stores, one of a kind boutiques, and glamorous luxury designers, to trendy locals that dress to impress, Florence acts as a fashion hub. The world is beginning to identify Florence as the new “It Place” for fashion. In their e-newsletter, the Telegraph reported that Florence is giving world famous fashion districts like New York City, Milan, and Paris “a run for their money,” as the article went on to describe the streets as “heavenly,” for lack of better words.

My T-Shirt Business
I have three sample shirts, “Denial is not Just a River in Africa,” “Don’t Give Me Shit About My Meds,” and “Sober!!” I’m debating what shirts to make next. I need to get the “Sin Vergüenza” T-shirt going, or perhaps “Bill Wilson Sent Me.” I’m interested in making t-shirts to sell on my Etsy store but my bank is going to shut down my business account on January 30 if I don’t make extra money to put in that account. I’m looking for a steady paying job, and to publish my writing somewhere, as well as write articles. This is one way I have to generate funds. My t-shirt business is supposed to make sales on the Etsy store. I’m going to try to do this when I make extra income from a part-time work from home online job.

Interview with an Ethically Motivated CEO
This interview came out of a research project I completed for my English class. The project was on the subject of "fast fashion," which is a term used to reference the production of cheap, in demand clothing. I interviewed Jessica Kelly, the founder of Thr3efold, which is a company with a "threefold mission of people, planet, and profit" that is working to connect designers with ethical factories and form business relationships that are economically sustainable and environmentally friendly. One of the things about Thr3efold that piqued my interest was the fact that their founder is from my hometown, and she has firsthand experience with the local impact of fashion and how it makes its way down the chain of ownership. You can read the interview below.

Ways Clothing Became Toxic
Before we begin talking about all the ways clothing became toxic over the years, we have to define toxicity as it applies to this discussion. Something can be toxic by virtue of being unhealthy. It doesn't just apply to chemicals and poisons, although they certainly count. In addition to deficient practices in the textile industries, clothing has become toxic due to uncomfortable fits, potentially hazardous fabrics, and a desire to produce clothes at bottom-of-the-barrel costs. Clothing is toxic to the people who make it, the people who wear it, and the people who live around factories. First, you need to pinpoint the causes; then you have to work on finding safer alternatives with which to stock your wardrobe.

Reasons Why Swimsuits Are so Expensive
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Swimsuits are so expensive,” you’re not alone. You might still be surprised to learn that there are actual factual reasons to why this is the case. Sure, designers want to make as much money as possible, and although that is a factor, it’s not the main reason why you dish out hundreds of dollars to look cute on the beach each summer. The reasons are everything from the type of material used, to innovation and designs.

Fashion & Fitness
Fashion and fitness—two things that are most dear to me outside of my family and friends. It’s important to understand that both have played a major role in our society, especially from the mid to late 80s to even now. Bodybuilders work in their cut sweatshirts, a way to get the best of both worlds, to sweat it out while still being cool and fashionable. The short ranger pantie style shorts show off their aesthetically built legs, paired with long old school double ribboned high socks which were the most important accessory on your feet. The most common workout sneakers were the bike track sneakers and the high top converses.

Best Fashion Design Books for Beginners
Fashion designers are the type of people that are perennially cool. They make the clothes we wear, dictate style, and also somehow manage to get people to see aesthetics in a brand new way. Most creative individuals have, at one point or another, considered becoming a fashion designer.
