Streetwear Reselling: The best (and most stylish) way to make money

RESELLING. Teenagers are doing it. College students are doing it. Even grandparents are doing it.

But what's the big deal? People have always been selling products for higher prices than they bought them for, and sure, they made a few extra dollars on the side, but can you really make a large profit at all?

The answer is Y-E-S!!!

Here are 5 steps for becoming a SUCCESSFUL streetwear reseller:

1. Do your research

The first step to becoming a successful reseller is knowing what people want.

I suggest you hop on Twitter and check out what people are talking about. For example, head over to the latest posts on #supreme and check out what people are saying. Will the new drop be worth it? Check out some polls and find out what people like. These products will be your targets when they are released.

Keep in mind, only target brands with limited supply and infrequent or no restocks. Buyers who were not able to snag what they were looking for on the release date will now be looking for a reseller (that's YOU) and will be willing to pay a lot more than the original retail price.

2. Buy your products

Stay ready. Once you know what you want to buy, it's a matter of waiting. At all product releases, all merchandise is gone in a matter of minutes-and sometimes seconds!

If you want to buy more than one product, I suggest you look into buying a bot that can buy products for you. These bots are very beneficial. Buying a bot doesn't mean guaranteed success, but it gives you much higher chances of skipping the line and getting the products you want within seconds.

3. Start Selling

These days, there are so many sites you can use to sell streetwear.

Let me get something off my chest real quick: DON'T USE POSHMARK OR STOCKX!!! These sites, plainly said, are complete garbage. Their fees are so high you will make next to no profit!

I would start off selling on Instagram. Make a reselling page and post pictures of what you are selling. Take good pictures, from all angles, along with pictures of the label and tags on the item. Post these pictures with a price slightly higher price than you want to sell them for. If anyone is interested, you will still make the profit you want even if they want to barter about the price. Include hashtags such as #resell and the name of the product you are selling so you can reach a wider scope of buyers.

But here's a tip, don't sell the item right after you buy it. It may seem tempting to make some quick money, but if you wait the price you can sell the item for will probably go up. This is a bit risky, but the higher the profit, the more the risk. And remember, in-person customers are the best type, as they are more loyal, do not require shipping fees, and will probably be your best customers!

4. Promote your page

So, you have the items you want to sell, you have all your accounts set up, and your ready to sell. But who are you going to sell to?

Promotion is extremely, extremely important. You need to spread the word that you have goods you want to sell. I recommend asking friends to give you shoutouts when you firsts start out your Instagram page.

Connect with other resellers and do shoutout-for-shoutout runs with customers. But the best way to promote yourself, get the drop on hot releases, and find customers is the last and final step.

5. Join a Discord cook group

What's a cook group?

A cook group is a chat with your fellow resellers. They will offer you advice, discuss the latest releases and their resale values, let you rent out their high-end bots, and more.

A cook group is all in all a really great community. Some cook groups have a monthly, yearly or lifetime fee. This is sometimes worth it, but a lot of these groups just turn out to be a waste of money. I myself have been in many such groups, and I recommend this free discord server called 'Just Cookin'.
