How to Keep Makeup Fresh in the Summer

Today is gonna be a glow day

The skin gets extremely greasy in hot weather, and the face shines continually, yet you still want to look lovely. Furthermore, the peak season for weddings is in the summer, when solemn make-up must be kept in its original condition for long periods of time.

We suggest adhering to the guidelines of long-lasting cosmetics, which will enable you "not lose face" even on the warmest day.

Getting ready to apply cosmetics to the face

• Forget heavy lotions; in the summer, a light moisturising fluid with SPF is adequate to keep you protected from the sun. Those with oily skin should opt for a water-based matting gel.

• Use a specific foundation base if your makeup needs to endure all day (primer). The base will not only smooth out the skin texture and offer a velvety matte finish to the face, but it will also provide optimum make-up longevity. Remember to apply the base to your eyes and lips as well.

Powder and toning

• Use light liquid concealers and foundations. They should be applied with a cosmetic sponge or brush rather than your fingers, which, when in touch with the face, will add oiliness to the skin.

• Pre-wet the base sponge in a mattifying toner for oily skin: the tone will be applied in a very thin layer, the skin will breathe easier, and the makeup will last longer.

• Apply loose powder to the base with a brush, which creates better matting than compact powder. Mineral powder with antibacterial and absorbent characteristics is great for oily skin.

• If your skin is really oily, choose a mineral foundation rather than a liquid tone. This eliminates the need to apply an additional layer of powder.

Makeup for the cheeks and the eyes

• Choose blush and shadows with a liquid texture or a mousse consistency: they will not roll off and will not fade from the skin, even after a long time. Just keep in mind that products with this texture harden almost fast, so shade them right away.

• Pay attention to the most comfortable in the heat means with a cooling effect, which are currently produced by many brands.

• Choose waterproof mascara and eyeliner pencils. Even if it's quite hot, they won't grease or flow and you'll cry at the wedding.

• If the day is really hot, the best option for brow makeup is a clear or coloured gel for fixing them, which may be applied alone or over a pencil outline. The pencil will no longer smear.

Makeup for the lips

• To extend the life of your lipstick, pre-chill it.

• With a pencil, first draw the contour of the lips, then shade them. Apply lipstick with a brush, then dab lips with a tissue before reapplying lipstick. The lipstick will now last a long time.

• Brides should use long-lasting lipstick. They tend to dry out your lips a lot, so make sure to hydrate them carefully the day before with balm. Make sure to purchase a permanent makeup remover: truly high-quality long-lasting lipsticks will remain on your lips until you wash them off and cannot be removed with conventional techniques.

• The majority of new long-lasting lipsticks have a hydrating gloss. After the pencil stroke, apply the lipstick and let it dry completely before applying the gloss. While gloss can be reapplied during the day, lipstick should not be reapplied because it can begin to crumble on the lips.

Make-up obsession

If you're going to a gala occasion when your makeup must be immaculate, use a fixative to fix the makeup in the finale. Retainers form an invisible, moisture- and heat-resistant coating on the face. They are often sold in spray form and are accessible from professional brands

Make-up touch-ups throughout the day

• Don't continually powder your skin as it starts to shine; otherwise, you'll end up with multiple melted layers of powder on your face. It is preferable to use matting wipes and to apply the powder only once every two hours.

• Using a special anti-shine powder is another approach to keep your skin matte (they are also offered by professional brands). Because such powders are colourless, even after repeated applications, they do not provide the appearance of a heavily powdered face and effectively erase the skin's greasy shine.
