Apple-shape body

How to know if you have an apple-shaped body? An apple-shaped body is differentiated by fats accumulated around the chest and belly area; if having a few cheat days causes your belly to expand more than it would, there is quite a possibility that you are apple-shaped. It is one of the common body shapes around the world; an apple-shaped body would have a chest, hips, and waist of approximately the same size. It is, however, observed that the hips are often around 6 inches shorter than the chest and waist. Now, let's make the analyzation process easier; if you tick more than half of the points below, you have possibly found your body shape.

The width of your shoulders and hips are approximately the same; the bone structure follows a regular pattern from the shoulders to the waist; however, the waist gets a little less broad and chubbier.

The most proportion of your body fat is accumulated in the waist and belly region, while the other parts of the body get less affected by it.

The lower region of your body is gracefully thinner compared to the upper region, or if you receive extra compliments after wearing a coat or jacket that hits at the hip or upper thigh, it is probably another signal.

The width of your hip varies according to its height; the lower hip has shorter width compared to the upper hip, which is wider.

Apple-shaped bodies commonly have a smaller and less wide waist compared to the same weight of other body types. It is because of the fat settling process, as discussed above.

Tips for dressing up

If you have found Apple shaped body to be your body type, then the tips below would help you take your dressing sense to newer heights.

Empire waist: the dress makes your waist look a little higher than its actual position, creates a good overall streamlined look.

Off-the-shoulder: having pretty wide shoulders are always a perk of an apple-shaped body; show them a little to add to your look

Wrap: try selecting dressers with a fitted look, as they help you add definition to your waistline.

Pear-shaped body

Do you like hearing complicated terms? If yes, consider your body type as pear-shaped if you have an ectomorph upper body and an endomorph lower body. If you didn't get what those words meant, it's alright cause neither did I; as we have now settled on our intellect, let's discuss a pear-shaped body in simpler terms. The body has lower fat accumulation in the upper body, while the parts below the waistline have a higher fat proportion. Pear bodies are known to have a less wide chest and waistline while their hips and thighs are wider relatively.

In most cases, the hips of a pear-shaped body are wider than the busts and shoulders, making them the widest part of the body. So if you can have killer abs in a few weeks, but your chicken legs take months even to signal, there are high doubts that you may be pear-shaped. In numerical terms, the hips are at least five percent wider than the busts or shoulders. If the description wasn't good enough for you to decide, let's use a similar trick with the bullets that we used above; if your body doesn't fit more than half of the traits, it's time to move onto the last three.

Your body has round and sloping shoulders that are slender because of low-fat accumulation in the area around them.

The fat around your waistline is far lower comparatively; thus, there is a fair chance that all your abs need is a knock before they show up.

Most of the fat accumulation is at or around your thighs, making them appear a little wider than the shoulders.

The hips and thighs' width is regular; the hips have a standard width throughout their length, while the thighs are round and shape downwards.

You have wider hips compared to the shoulders.

Tips for dressing up

A-line: A roomier skirt that falls beneath your thighs would help streamline the body and help you even it out.

Fit and Flare: you can also choose skirts with a well-defined waistline that are tighter on the up but with more flounce as it goes down.

Wrap: the dresses have built-in ties that go well with the sharp waistline and a V-neck that adds to your looks.
