Why do my clothes never fit well? How does she look so good? How do I flatter my body type using the clothes I wear?

So often I asked myself these questions with no explanation and so much money I spent trying to find the “perfect fits”. That was until I learned these tricks and tips!

Defining Waistline

How do I show off my natural curve? What pants should I buy and what will compliment my shape? Here’s some tips!

-HIGH-WAISTED-

What’s the big fuss over high-waisted jeans?

Well, the science behind high-waisted apparel is that they highlight your waistline.

The rim of high-wasted jeans hug in where your waist in smallest, this flattering your natural curve. This is true for any high-waisted clothing item. Jeans, shorts, skirts if worn highwasted can bring out the flow of your waistline and hips.

-FIT-

If you’re like me you might not have hips. I always say I have 2 pairs of hips because I have a little curve but it doesn’t connect with my actual hip bone 😂. I fix this by buying pants that fit a little tighter around the waist but baggier around my hips. I have a pair of mom jeans that have become my favorite since they do just that (give me the illusion of hips).

-SLIMMING SHIRTS-

I also have an assortment of fitted shirts. Try wearing a shirt that cuts off at your waist or tuck it into your jeans. Show off your tum tum a bit or wear a tank top! Showing your shoulders is a great way to make your shoulders look wider and your waist thinner.

-Belts-

Another simple accessorie for defining your waistline is a belt! Use a belt with anything! Pants, skirt, dress, jacket, shorts. They are a great way to spice up your outfit while hugging your perfect waist. ❤️

Bust

Did you know there are tricks to make you look more or less busty? Here they are!

-COLOR-

One is color. Some colors, like white and grey, bring out the size of your chest. This is because these colors make shadows and highlights more prominent, whereas black does not. So, lighter colors can make your chest look a bigger, while darker colors do their opposite.

-PATTERN-

Have you ever seen artists use slightly curved stripes to create a 3D image on a paper? Striped shirts have a similar effect! Lines trace the curves on your chest and make them pop or not! What’s the difference? Shirts with horizontal stripes will make your bust look bigger, in fact, pregnant women will often wear these shirts to make there bump look more prominent! Vertically striped shirts, on the other hand, give your front a more toned look.

-STYLE-

You may have seen how a V neck shirt can really show off your stuff, well my friend, that isnt the only way to make you feel a little more busty.

Try wearing a tank top with a higher neckline, also called a halter-top. The shape of a halter-top creates a kind of triangle from your neck down to your chest. This shape makes your neck and shoulders look less prominent than the bulk of the shirt at your chest. Thus, giving the illusion of a bigger bust. I love this style and wear the all the time.

If you are going for a less busty look try an off the shoulder shirt that highlights your shoulders and compliments your collar bone.

(Note: chokers are super cute way to make your neck look longer and flatter a chest of any size!)

Long legs

I won’t lie, I am short. How do I make my legs look longer and slimmer? Here’s what I do!

-SKIRTS-

Showing more of your leg makes you look taller! So, high-waisted short skirts, or my personal fave, SCORTS, Can lengthen the look of your legs since they travel further up your waist and show off more of your thigh. I don’t like to go too short, and that’s why I love scorts! They can be flattering but still give me the comfort of having my bum fully covered.

Now, if you like to look a bit shorter but love skirts try this...

-SOCKS-

Another factor for legs length is, believe it or not, sock choice. Heals are a lifesaver for some of us short gals but socks are the real game changer for all heights.

Thigh high or knee high socks can make you look shorter since they cover more surface area, however they can also bring more attention to your legs altogether. Ankle high and calf high socks give a bit lengthier look.

When wearing pants and socks, try to go for similar colors. The uniformity in color gives the illusion of more length.

You can also play with the pattern of socks, pants, and leggings. Just like I mentioned earlier, prominent vertical stripes that run down your pants can give you a taller look, while horizontal give you a shorter one.

That’s all for this post! I want to end this by saying you are perfect no matter what! Society has a way of putting beauty in a box, a very small box we can’t fit in, and I want you to know that you have been made wonderful and beautiful by God in every way. Don’t ever let other people convince you otherwise.

So, Thank you so much for finding this post! I hope you found it helpful and that you take your beauty to the world ❤️
