With six decades of fashion styles, one that's worth taking a closer look at is the one with the golden arches.

Retro McDonald's, along with the Burger King and other fast-food franchises, helped inspire a new wave of menswear that captured the casual and comfort-seeking lifestyles of a new generation of men.

'The McDonald's and fast food industry have been the subject of many fashion trends, but the one that captured the fancy of many the past couple years is going back to the golden arches,' stylist Jack Foust, the man behind much of the film credits for Transformers, according to Menswear Daily.

'I saw a pair of Golden Arches underwear that made me realize we're seeing a wave of self-expression in men's fashion and it's focused on the details that we like the most from our favorite fast-food and casual retailers.'

Foust has noticed a change in the menswear style after the campaign started to go viral.

'I see a more high-quality version of what you'd see in a burger chain,' he told MONEY. 'Fashion trends tend to ride the wave of hype. Right now, this trend is being driven by the media and a new generation of consumers. Younger men are following this trend as they do with other things on social media. This style is pretty much authentic to what guys are wearing today.'

McDonald's was one of the first companies to help popularize the parachute pants and platform shoes of the 1970s.

Golden arches trend alert: McDonald's, along with the Burger King and other fast-food franchises, helped inspire a new wave of menswear that captured the casual and comfort-seeking lifestyles of a new generation of men

Eat up: The Golden Arches have also inspired this new look of dress-down wear.Look at this: Several bloggers showed off their McDonald's inspired style this week, proving that the look is still popular today

Eschewing the usual dress code of most professional environments, the employees of these fast-food chains sported hip, comfortable clothes to match the time period in which they were working.

With the exception of the gaudy red and yellow dresses that McDonald's used to sell in the 1970s, many of the uniforms adopted a decidedly non-professional style.

Rather than wear ties and blazers like many do today, employees wore cardigans, wide-leg trousers, and — yes — wide-leg pants. This look caught on not only at McDonald's and Burger King but other places that sold clothes with a lower-end style in an effort to appeal to a broader demographic of customers

Unfortunately for the fast-food restaurants, however, the so-called parachute pants would eventually fade into obscurity. Although they've certainly not disappeared, the once-ubiquitous style has since been joined by a multitude of other trends that have transformed what it means to dress down today.

Like the baseball cap, a form-fitting T-shirt, and baggy sweatpants, McDonald's style is now on the list of 'unnecessary trends.'

Menswear blogger Liam Hartley has written extensively about his love for the Golden Arches. He frequently posts pictures of his relaxed, professional, and casual outfits on his Instagram page, but he's not alone.

While many the bloggers have started posting photos of themselves wearing McDonald's-inspired outfits on the regular, not everyone is a fan of the style. Some people on Reddit said the look is simply too reminiscent of 'wacky corporate cultures' and that wearing the clothes means 'if you work there, you look like an employee.'

High-quality: McDonald's outfits, which are designed for work, are just as much as fashionable as any other. 'I see a more high-quality version of what you'd see in a burger chain,' stylist Jack Foust, the man behind much of the film credits for Transformers, according to Menswear Daily

Manscape: Many people on Reddit said that McDonald's outfits could be distracting for the rest of the store and turn customers off from eating at the restaurants

Staying neutral: Some people say the outfits take away from the 'bling' of the McDonald's name.

Pics or it didn't happen: Steve said he is often the only person wearing McDonald's gear in his office.

Conservatives: Some people said the uniforms of McDonald's stores can be offensive to those who don't agree with the fast-food chain's stance on the gay lifestyle

No need to: Many people who shop at Sears, Lowe's, and other big-box stores can get a good quality coat for under $50

Instead of mustard yellow, people would wear striped shirts and cardigans. While many of the styles today might look more casual than the full uniform, most of them look equally cool.
