Dress Like: Sabrina Spellman

'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' (CAOS)/Kiernan Shipka version, but don't worry. A Melissa Joan Hart edition is on its way.

CAOS (or, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) is the latest interpretation of the classic Archie comic. It's been renewed for another season, so this wardrobe will be relevant way past Halloween.

The core ingredient in Sabrina's wardrobe is a playfulness. Costume designer Angus Strathie plays with different periods, symbols (this adaptation of the comic leans on older, darker traditions of magical lore and religious text), and shows us a Sabrina who is beginning to play with adulthood. Shop the look below with a mix of high street and high end brands. Some links are underneath the pictures.

Tailored Biker Jacket (Helmut Lang)

Sabrina can be caught in numerous leather jackets throughout both series. Helpful, because Greendale seems to exist in perpetual autumn. This is a pretty expensive option, but it was too good to leave out. A lofty ambition, but if this article makes its way to Netflix HQ and serves as further inspiration I wouldn't be mad...

Hot Red Mini Skirt (ARKET)

Currently does not ship to the US

No such thing as too many mini skirts seems to be the ethos of this program/ethos of my life. Very sorry that this brand doesn't currently ship to the US, but I feel like if enough of us click this side of the pond, they might think about branching out over the pond.

See: the masquerade ball scene. This bracelet probably has magical properties.

Grease, Remixed (Monse)

Feels like what the characters will wear when they inevitably (unfortunately) make a journey between Riverdale and Greendale. I say unfortunately because, between you and I, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is in a different (read: better) league.

For when the leather is too heavy (Topshop)

For unseasonably warm autumn days.

Is it witchy if there is no black lace? (ASOS: Brave Soul)

For your own dark baptism, or any day that you want to pretend that's happening.

Ceremonial Gold Leather (MSGM)

Again, see: the masquerade ball scene. A dress to fight Satan in.

Tailored Denim

I'm #nabrina endgame, but I like that Harvey works hard to prove the value and versatility of a denim jacket year round.

Gin Seurat is a silly pseudonym, but if people didn’t hate the name Lemony Snicket, I think they can handle something I put together by randomly typing letters into Finder (a recipe and an old art history project came up; guess which was from which).

Some tracks to shop along with...

Because Gin can't resist a playlist.

The title makes this an obvious choice, but if Florence isn't actually is a witch—in the best sense of the word—no one is.

Aunt Zelda's answer to any design question.

I thought it would just be fun to remember this song that we all used to listen to on repeat.

This song is actually featured on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and maybe a hundred other shows. As it should be.

Amusing, charming, and frightening in equal measure, just like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

No explanation needed.

This song seems to imply that this devil woman/witch, is able to turn into a cat à la Professor McGonagall. I appreciate that.

Mr. Billy Fury is far less afraid of the witchy woman in his song than Richard and the Eagles seem to be, which is either sweet or naïve, depending on which way you look at it.

Another song featured in the show.

I first heard this song watching Ella Enchanted, and unless you're significantly older than me, I hope you did too.
