Summer is coming, and with it, the wedding season for lots of couples. It fills us with emotion and questions, and it becomes a sea of planning what dress to wear. Whether the wedding is for a close friend, your sister, or a distant cousin, it’s an opportunity to leave a lasting impression.

There are multiple factors that should be analyzed before choosing an outfit for a Summer wedding:

  • What time will the wedding take place: If the schedule of the ceremony and party is from 11 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, it is advisable to wear midi dresses either above the knees or under the middle of the legs.
  • What will be the location (indoors or outdoors): On the other hand, if the schedule is from 4 PM onward, a longer dress will suit you. If you want to be on the safe side, anything at calf level is OK.
  • The formality of the event: Wedding invitations usually announce the theme or formality of the costumes. Remember that day or night, you must adapt to the event. Deciding between short or long, everything will be reduced to whether the event is formal or semi-formal.

Summer colors: you'll want to stand out even if it's not your wedding.

The colors are something important, it is usually the rule to wear warm colors in summer, but the cool colors are also worth it in some instances.

Combining certain colors with warm color accessories also work giving the outfit a summer touch. If in doubt, always refer to the Summer color palette by PANTONE.

Yellow: it's a summer classic

Any shade of yellow matches the hot color of Summer. If the wedding is on a beach, you can sign up for a sexy look with fresh materials like lace, crochet or fabric, linen, and cotton. It can also combine well with accessories in white or light shades of blue.

Pink: it's a girl thing

On the contrary, if you are quite romantic and you will attend a wedding in a garden or outside, you will love this color. Just be sure to avoid the color if bridesmaids are using pink in their outfits. You may be tempted to combine this color with white accessories, but that's going into dangerous territory for a wedding.

Emerald Green: symbolizing harmony and freshhness

If you will be attending a wedding at night, this is a perfect color to wear. A shade of green is a good color to show stability and a harmony without overshadowing your fun side.

You can afford to decide how much elegance or sexiness you want with it. In the end, the important thing is to follow the wedding’s dress code, but it is a fun color to go with.

Wearing White?

Every wedding may have some guests who will casually use white, but it’s poor etiquette. Personally, I would never recommend it and you need to be careful since some modern brides will use various shades and color combinations.

Avoiding outfits without decoration like rhinestones or sequins is also recommended. While there are certain dresses that are beautiful with these touches, everything will depend on the amount and distribution of it. As a general rule of thumb, the idea is not to draw attention away from the bride herself.

Final Thoughts

While it’s not your special day, attending a wedding should be enjoyable for both yourself and other attendees. It’s the celebration of the joining of two families along with their tight-knit groups of friends, so showing support should be a priority. Hopefully, with the suggestions above, you will be able to make an easy decision to bring a dress that will both leave an impression and show respect to the ceremony.
