2020 wears no clothes

Why contribute to horrible fashion trends when you can just where nothing?

2020 was a lot of new things that we don't need to talk about right now...too soon, but there weren't a lot of new fashion trends. Shocking statement, i know! Everything that these influencers wore (or didn't wear) came from another era we already lived. Juicy Couture sweats, flared yoga pants, Doc Martins, scrunchies, even mullets made a come back! Most of the outfits you pin to your 'cute clothes' board on Pinterest most likely is a remake of something my mom wore in the 80's or 90's. (nothing wrong with that, love you mom) But we've come to a point of constant recycling of style, (which of course is great for the environment) and I haven't seen something new since "on fleek" eyebrows in 2014. And even then, eyebrows have been evolving since the start of time. So then there's the question, what style/fashion trend was truly 2020? ...Nothing. No clothing at all.

Well maybe not nothing entirely. Influencers weren't on social media posting entirely naked photos...well maybe on OnlyFans.

Now lets talk about what we really want to talk about now. LINGERIE!! It's everywhere and its great. Others would probably disagree, but lingerie was definitely the staple in fashion in 2020. Come on, it was even on runways!

Brands like SavageXFenty, Lounge Underwear, SKIMS, and a crap ton of others have blown up immensely this past year. Especially with so many influencers and people who use the internet in general, how could it not be so popular? Brand ambassadors and social media have changed the the business market in ways people would have never guessed. But it's amazing actually. Despite what your local Karen says about girls posting in practically nothing on intsagram, those posts actually make people feel great about themselves (for the most part). These brands and their body positivity and inclusivity is something we have always needed and still need more of! Unlike some lingerie brands that shall remain unnamed, brands like SavageXFenty never thought twice about how their models' bodies "should" look. Because everyone looks beautiful in their own bodies and can wear whatever the F*** they want!

Body positivity isn't the only thing, feminism and diversity is being scattered across the internet (as it should!) and a lot of it comes from these brands and lingerie posts. Of course it comes from other places too but it's amazing what something as simple as underwear which was told to be covered up long ago is now something to show off! We are only in charge of our own bodies and nobody else's so why make decisions for someone else who physically can not do what you want to try and make them do.

In conclusion, you are beautiful just the way you are, weather you want to change the way you look because you want to, or wear less clothing because YOU want to, or do whatever you want because YOU WANT TO. It is all valid and you shouldn't feel less because of the way past generations or "society" has told you to be or look a certain way.

So then, I think the fashion trend that should go away in 2021 is fashion trends as a whole. We are not inclined to stick to each new trend that comes around, and we are not inclined to not stick to each new trend. If you like what you have on then that is all that matters!

(p.s. your lingerie posts are amazing and beautiful and you look great)
