You will never believe what this creature has turned into

The vet's reaction made Jonathan even more sure of his suspicions. He hadn't rescued a monkey from the forest. This was something very different. And he was about to get the confirmation he was looking for.

Walking through the Forest, Jonathan encountered a very weak looking white 'monkey', his first instinct was to take him to a local vet for help. But he would soon realize that this was a big mistake. He wasn't dealing with a monkey and should have left it right where he found it, but the protective instinct got the better of him.

Jonathan has been an animal lover for as long as he can remember. Today wouldn't be the first time he'd been on a mission to rescue an animal in need. He loved nature and often walked through the woods and like so many other times, today would be a day when he would be a helper to an animal in need. But things were not what they seemed.

Jonathan thought he had seen it all. After all, he rescued dozens of animals, from birds to rodents, stray dogs and cats, and something resembling a wild boar. He didn't like being called a hero, but deep down it was good to help these animals. After all, they were so cute and adorable. How could he refuse to help an animal in need?

He was very skilled at helping animals. He could identify basic problems and knew a few vets in town. It also meant that he felt quite confident in his abilities to identify animals, but this time it would be different. The most important issue at hand was the puppy alone, but the trouble would start soon.

During one of Jonathan's walks through the woods outside of town, he was sure he heard an animal screaming for help.

It was then that he saw the little thing. There was a small bed of moss and on top of it was a little white monkey, so young that its eyes had not yet fully opened. Jonathan bent over the poor creature and looked around for other possible offspring. After all, they usually came in bunches. But there was nothing.

Jonathan spent a few minutes examining the little creature, trying to see if there was any kind of injury. The monkey seemed fine, except for being alone and probably scared. But was it a monkey? The more he looked at it, Jonathan wasn't sure. And that wasn't the only strange thing here.

The small bed of moss that held the supposed monkey was strange and looked strange to Jonathan. This was not something very likely to be found in nature. Perhaps some animal had built it as a kind of nest? But still, an animal would be more confusing. This left a very confusing and possibly terrifying conclusion.

If it wasn't an animal and it wasn't natural, there was one possibility. Humans. The big question was why would someone go into the middle of the woods and leave a puppy alone? And was it really a monkey? Jonathan had many questions and no answers, but he knew one thing had to be done.

Making a makeshift carrier for the little animal with the lid of his suitcase, he carefully placed the pup inside it. He still had a long way to go before he reached his car, but at least for now, the little thing would be safe and secure from any nasty animals around.

Jonathan repeatedly checked on the pup as he returned to the car. It was threatening to rain and Jonathan didn't want the little baby to get wet or get cold. But the more he looked at the animal, the more curious he became. Although he suspected it wasn't a monkey, now he was almost certain. So what was it?

The black creature was small and definitely a baby, so it didn't have any distinguishing features. He was really too young to say what it was, but the face looked rather strange. It would have to be some kind of ape to have a face like that. He couldn't think of any other explanation.

It wasn't until later in his walk that Jonathan had another idea. Perhaps the animal was not native to this forest or area. A monkey wouldn't be native around here, but at least it would make a little more sense. If the animal was not native to this area, how did it get here? Again, the only plausible answer was humans.

It didn't really matter what the creature was, Jonathan would take care of it and get the help it needed. A shelter would likely take the monkey, but he needed to be seen by a vet first. The city was half an hour away by car. Jonathan hoped the creature would be fine until then. It was getting darker.

After a few more minutes, Jonathan finally reached the parking lot. It didn't take him more than two seconds to figure out that something was very, very wrong. The parking lot was completely empty. There was no one there. That would be normal with the rain coming, but his car is also gone!

Recbracing himself, Jonathan walked over to where he was sure he'd parked. Thinking he might be wrong, he took a quick turn around the parking lot and looked for his car. It couldn't have been towed. He parked right here in this parking lot. That was perfectly cool. He went back to the first point and found a single clue.

Bending down the sidewalk, Jonathan found many shards of glass. Small fragments he had lost before. It was evident now that someone had broken into his car and stolen it. They had time and opportunity. How was he supposed to get back to the city now and with the rain coming down?

The park he was walking in wasn't very well known and was off a fairly quiet road. Lucky for him, Jonathan still has his phone and some battery. He decided to call the police first to report that his car had been stolen. The baby animal in his pack was important, but now his car took priority.

Jonathan told police what kind of car he had, the make, model, where it was, license plate and anything else he thought was important. The police told him they would keep an eye out, but that was all they could do for now. He thanked her and hung up. This was done, but he was still stuck.

He thought about getting to his apartment in the city, but the little creature in his backpack still needed attention. He needed to get to the vet first and then go home. Unfortunately, the vet's office was in town, still half an hour away, and now he didn't even have a car. But in today's world it couldn't be that hard to get a ride, right?

Jonathan checked the Uber app first. No one was willing to drive that far out of town to come get him. Jonathan was willing to pay the price for a ride, but no one was interested. Jonathan tried a taxi service next. He explained his situation, but he was also told no. They were worried it was a scam to rob them and their drivers.

That hasn't stopped Jonathan yet. In such a big city, there were several taxi companies, but he lost hope as service after service refused him. Jonathan was furious after the sixth company turned him down. He was desperate and it was starting to rain now. He didn't want to be out in the cold. It was time for something drastic.

He was going to hitchhike. Although there weren't many cars passing this road, one would have to come eventually. It was just a matter of time. Luckily for him, he only had to wait about ten minutes before a car turned the corner. Jonathan thanked his lucky star and went to work.

Jonathan motioned for the car and once he had their attention he put his thumb up showing that he needed a ride. A middle-aged woman rolled down her car window. Jonathan explained what had happened to him. His car had been stolen and he needed a ride to town. Would she believe him?

Luckily, she was also heading to town and had no problem getting Jonathan to go with her. She seemed kind enough and believed his story. She sat in the passenger seat and from the moment she sat down, she heard a curious noise coming from the back seat of the car...

Jonathan sat up, his mind on the animal that was cradled in his arms. Beside him, the woman's Labrador approached the pack, slowly sniffing around to discover what was hidden inside. At first, Jonathan thought the dog had sniffed a puppy and his maternal instincts had kicked in, but he soon realized how wrong he was.

Jonathan smiled at the larger dog, releasing the bundle that covered the monkey and allowing the labrador to approach the bundle. The Labrador was calm and this led Jonathan to believe that the larger dog would not pose a threat. Opening the covers to reveal the monkey to the Labrador, Jonathan watched in horror as things got worse!

Jonathan only realized his mistake when it was too late. The labrador took a peek at the monkey and sniffed at the little animal for a second, then suddenly became aggressive. The labrador began to growl, baring its teeth before being quickly reprimanded for its behavior by its owner.

Jonathan looked on in horror, before walking away from the larger dog who was still visibly upset by the "monkey's" presence. Jonathan sighed in frustration, it was becoming very clear that the animal he had caught in the woods was definitely not a cub. But was it really a monkey? What the hell had he done?

Jonathan closed his eyes as he silently waited for a vet to clarify the situation. Nodding, he stared with a determined gaze, there was a change of plans. He would be going to a vet first! It was now clear that discovering the anima's identity. l would have priority. Luckily, you were kind enough to leave him.

They arrived at the vets soon after. The lady wished him luck and left him in front of the building. After checking in at the front desk, Jonathan sat in the waiting room, keeping the little creature nestled in the wrapping to avoid disturbing the other animals in the office. However, he showed the animal to the receptionist who was just as lost as Jonathan.

She informed Jonathan that she would put him on the list because the animal appeared to be in very bad shape, and she didn't want her presence to bother the other animals. Even with that information, Jonathan was shocked when he heard his name called out just minutes later.

Jonathan held the animal in his hand, and the Vet guided him to a chair. He narrated the events that took place in the forest to the vet who he listened carefully and took notes. Occasionally, the vet would ask questions, but the meeting only lasted about ten minutes before Jonathan was invited back into the waiting room.

Now that the pup was in the vet's care, Jonathan could turn his focus to other important matters. On the one hand, the theft of your car! Jonathan called the police to report his car theft and was shocked to learn that he would need to be transferred to another department!

Fortunately, that was because they found his car! Apparently, the thief had entered the city with a broken window, and a police officer spotted the vehicle and stopped it for a routine check. When the driver couldn't provide his information, the thief and car were taken into custody, and Jonathan called moments later!

Jonathan was surprised to hear all the information from him, but he was glad things had turned out well in that regard. There were still a few steps left for the car to be released to him, not to mention the insurance. But before he had a chance, he felt someone frantically tap him on the shoulder. It was the vet.

Jonathan apologized to the cops and hung up. He was a little confused by the intense look the doctor had on his face, but soon his curiosity would be sated. I know it's not your fault, but you made a huge mistake bringing this animal here.” Jonathan felt his heart sink.

Jonathan's defeated gaze would grow even deeper as the doctor explained what was happening. It turns out that the young animal was indeed in a dire situation, and there was nothing the doctor could do for him now that the disease had progressed. However, that wasn't the worst part. In its current state, the animal posed a great danger to the other animals in the clinic.

The doctor explained that the animal was infected with a virus that is incredibly contagious to smaller mammals. Not only was it very contagious, it was also a near-fatal infection when not caught in time. Which was the case with the super glider baby Jonathan had found.

Jonathan's eyes widened in surprise, before his brows rose in interest. A super glider? He almost laughed at the situation, his suspicions were indeed right and he wasn't actually dealing with a puppy after all. But he really never would have guessed that the baby animal was a super glider. The vet continued to explain.

The virus the super glider was infected with was well known to the vet, who had been studying it for the past few weeks. It has recently been widely reported in the area, and while it was most common among raccoons, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc., everyone was prone to catching it.

Jonathan was cautious, what he had done. The doctor calmed him down quickly, explained that they had already isolated the super glider in the back of the store. However, both the vet and Jonathan would need a new set of clothes and a bath to prevent spreading the virus to other animals.

Fortunately for Jonathan and the clinic staff, there was no risk of contracting the virus as humans are immune to it. This made Jonathan feel much better, but the doctor explained that even after the bath the protocol was that the other animals would need to be tested for safety.

A few hours later, all the tests were done. The doctor backed off and announced that all the animals had tested negative. Other good news came, they were going to treat the infected super glider.

The day was strange and eventful and Jonathan still finds his mind wandering through it often.

In hindsight, it was clear that he should have left the baby super glider in the woods. But at that moment, abandoning a baby animal didn't seem like the right thing to do. And even now, he was glad he'd made the choice to try to save him.

He felt a strong connection with the super glider. He wanted to make sure the super glider would survive the virus. He kept in touch with the vet

The. Then, a few weeks later, he got a call...

It was the vet! The vet told Jonathan that there was news about the super glider and that he should come to the hospital right away. Jonathan was at work, but he felt a strong urge to go to the hospital anyway. He decided to grab his bag and drive to the hospital.

Without looking back, Jonathan drove to the vet as fast as he could. For some reason, he had a bad feeling. When he got to the vet, he had to wait in the waiting room. He couldn't wait and he was sweating. He didn't understand why he felt this way, but yes. Then the vet entered the waiting room...

"Please come in," said the vet. Jonathan was nervous. He didn't know what to expect. The vet had a worried look on his face. The vet looked at Jonathan, then he asked a surprising question.

"Did you choose a name for the super glider?" Jonathan was a little confused. A name? Why would I need to choose a name? There was a brief moment of silence.

"Monkey! I'd like to call him Monkey," said Jonathan. Shortly after, the door opened.

The assistant entered the room with the super glider. The doctor explained that the animal had recovered from the virus and was doing very well. But because it is still weak, it would never do well in the wild. Then the doctor asked Jonathan the important question.

"Are you taking him home?" Jonathan was extremely happy that the animal did well. He'd never cared for a super glider before, so he wasn't sure if he was the right person for it. He took a deep breath and told the vet "Yes, I would like to take him home."

Jonathan was overjoyed when he took the little super glider home. 'Monkey' and Jonathan became best friends. They played a lot. Monkey became stronger and stronger. So Jonathan decided to take him outside to play. But then something terrible happened.

Monkey climbed a tree and left. Jonathan sat in the tree for hours, but no sign of a monkey. He didn't know what to do, so he just stood there. Jonathan was sad that Monkey was gone. Was he attacked? Did he want to come home? After a few hours, Jonathan decided to head home.

The next day, Jonathan returned to the tree, hoping to find a monkey sign. Again a few hours later and he couldn't find the super glider. Jonathan again decided to return home. But then something amazing happened.

Out of nowhere, a super glider jumped out of the tree and was flying around. He looped around Jonathan and ended up falling on his shoulder. He stood on his shoulder to hug Jonathan. Jonathan knew he was ape. They returned home. But Jonathan felt something wasn't right.

Monkey wanted to come home? Jonathan wondered if Monkey wouldn't be better in the wild. Jonathan eventually returned home with Monkey. The two started playing together and Jonathan knew that this would be the last day they would play together. Tomorrow Jonathan would let Monkey return to the wild.

The next morning, Jonathan took Monkey to the nearest tree in his backyard. He said goodbye to the monkey as he climbed the tree. After a few minutes he was gone. Jonathan knew he had made the right decision. That night Jonathan decided to take a walk in the woods.

Jonathan always walked through the woods on Thursday nights. But this time, he hoped to find his friend Monkey. Unfortunately, he did not locate the super glider. Jonathan returned home expecting to meet his friend on the way back. Then, out of nowhere, he saw something in his garden.

It was Monkey! But after looking closer, he saw another creature. Was it another super glider!? It looked like they were waiting for Jonathan to take care of them. Jonathan opened the door and they immediately rushed inside. Jonathan was overjoyed, but also a little worried that the other super glider might have the virus that Monkey had too. Jonathan decided to go back to the vet the next day.

Once again, Jonathan had to go back to the vet. This time with a little more urgency and more care. The vet decided to take action and immediately examined the super glider. Jonathan waited in the waiting room with Monkey, hoping his new friend wouldn't have the virus.

The vet called Jonathan into his office. He had good news. The super glider had no viruses. But upon closer examination, the vet didn't notice many similarities with Monkey. It let him believe they were brother and sister. Monkey returned to the forest to help his sister. The vet asked Jonathan if he wanted to take care of the two animals.

Without hesitation, Jonathan said yes and brought the two animals back home. They grew up very happy and healthy. Jonathan had two new friends to play with along with all his other animals.

Reads like the telling of an interesting TRUE story...with the TRUE part being the interesting bit. Without that, this is more akin to a bedtime story for my preschooler made up on the fly. I wouldn't quit my day job
