Triskits

On a cold stormy day, this big fluffy orange tabby was found outside the office doors. Mara the general manager and cat lover couldn't let the feline suffer, so she opened the door for him. That evening Mara took him home to her family. The next day, she put up some flyers to see if anyone has lost a cat. Weeks went by with no response to the posters. At this point Mara and Jen, the owner started letting the cat stay at the office. The fur ball needed a name, so Jen came up with the name "Triskits", because of the unique shades of orange and brown. Mara bought the cat a pet bed, a special blanket, treats, and a bunch of toys. He became the main attraction to the office. Everyone came in to see the new addition to the office family. The next day, while playing with his toys, "Triskits" discovered a mouse, but the little critter escaped from his grip. That afternoon the mouse came out again and this time, crawled into Jen's purse. That evening as Jen was grabbing for her keys, to much of her surprise she grabbed the mouse's tail instead. Jen screamed and threw the rodent into the air. It fell a few inches short of Triskit's food bowl. The furry feline finally snagged the critter. then our fluffy little sidekick, became known as "The Pet Detective." Every morning "Triskits" would stake out the office, for more mice. he studied the place where the mice were coming in from. Triskits became known as the best Pet Detective in town. Everyone wanted to borrow him. So Jen, still needing him at the office, would only borrow the cat out for the weekend. Mrs. Smith came into the office on day, all frantic and needed "Triskits" help, but because there was such a big problem at her house, she asked Jen if she could borrow him longer. Jen came to a compremise and agreed for the feline to go to her house until Wednesday. During his time at Rose's house, "Triskits" caught ten mice. Since Rose Smith's son owned the paper, she wrote an article about how good The Pet Detective was at mousing. That Wednesday, after the feline's return Jen and Mara got several calls from residents and buisnesses wanting the cat to help with the mice problems. The news of the article had spread throughout the community and the nearby towns. "Triskits" had become quite famous. Jen decided to put up a good will offering in the office, to help fix things around town. the community needed new benches, picnic tables and playground equipment. Soon everyone was borrowing The Pet Detective and Jen eventually made enough money to fix everything. When the news got out to Mayor Nelson, he held a special meeting to give Triskits The Pet Detective a medal. the medal said, best Pet Detective of Marcy County. Mara and Jen were so proud, that they decided to give Triskits a different home. So every night when it was closing time, Jen agreed to take the fluffy tabby home. "Triskits was so excited and jumped into Jen's car, anxiously waiting his new house. Not that he didn't like it at the office, but he wanted more room to explore. When he got to Jen's, he ran up and down the stairs, slid across the shiny hardwood floors and found his very own window, right in the living room, facing the bird feeder. "Triskits" was very much at home. At night, after playing, The Pet Detective needed his rest and curled up in a ball on Jen's bed and fell asleep. Although Jen lived alone, she loved the company of her friend. The next day, Jen was ready to go back to work and to much of her surprise, "Triskits" was waiting at the door, ready to go for a ride again. When our big helper got back to the office, he went back to work doing what he loved, which was keeping the building safe from any mice.
