I have had pets come and go, as I write this, I have two cats; one is fifteen and a ragdoll who loves to cuddle, he has Asperger’s, but he’s not the one I want to talk about. I want to talk about the one year old and bicolored girl that is Matilda. She’s got a fire in her belly when she works and a fire on her nose twenty four seven!

Fiery personality and marks aside, this little energetic Manx has a knack for catching the nuisance of flying pests. When she sets her eyes on, you best believe that pest won’t stay the night in our home! When there aren’t flying pests inside, she makes sure the ones outside, stay outside!

She does all sorts of tactics to ensure they know that this is her house and she won’t take their intrusion laying down. She’ll spend hours catching that one nuisance; even when the sun goes down, she won’t stop until the home is pest free! She’s the hardest pest control worker you can ever ask for!

Her payment is usually the pest she successfully catches. She eats it as her self given reward and doesn’t seem to mind at all. Despite this, she will accept other payments such as treats or bits of Zaxby’s chicken; or any chicken really. She will not accept cash or credit at all.

When she’s not working on removing pests, she’s helping me by being the star of the majority of my TikTok videos, she has our family laughing constantly; even my introvert of a cousin Johnathan can’t help but laugh at her antics. Her usually lazy coworker, fifteen year old Ceaser, even finds time to enter some of them!

Some videos of Matilda show her at work catching those pests, some are of her reigniting her coworker’s energy, and some even show Matilda doing…dog tricks?! Yes, you read that right! Matilda knows some dog tricks. Like any good dog, she expects praise and a treat for doing a good job. She knows a lot of tricks which include as I write this: sit, lay down, speak, play dead, shake, high five, fist bump, guess which hand has the treat in it, sit up, and roll over.

She’s loyal and sweet when she doesn’t want to play off the clock, she takes well deserved naps when the job is done, but when you let her know that a nuisance has arrived, you best believe she’ll put an end to her well needed nap and leap into action! Literally!

The pests she specialize in exterminating are: house flies and gnats. She also keeps an eye out for other pests like moths and love bugs. Those two are a rarity in our home, but she makes sure to keep a hazel eye out for them. She loves her family and her job; always finding time to spend with each of us in her own special way. She naps above my grandma when she’s in her recliner, she lounges with mom, and she plays with me and chases Ceaser!

Even off camera and TikTok, she keeps us entertained; especially when she is busy reigniting the fire in Ceaser’s belly. The fire is usually short lived, but it’s amusing to watch no matter how you slice it! She keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh more than any comedy ever could! She’s one of a kind that’s for sure! We love our family’s pest control specialist and we hope that all of you out there love her too!
