I can confidently say that I have more pictures of my dogs than I do of my family on my phone. It's not something I'm very vocal about, but it is something I'm pretty happy with. I mean, with faces like those? Come on.Being the neurotic person that I am though, I'm stuck turning over thoughts in my head about how they must be bored at home alone all day. Occasionally too, all the horrible things that can happen to them if a short circuit were to light the curtains on fire or if someone broke into my house pop into my head and send me into an absolute panic. They are just tiny dogs! And though these worst case scenario thoughts are horrific, they make me worry about the safety of my pets.
I'm faced with the same old dilemma every time I go away; I'm eager to explore and check out new places, but I'm also a devout pet owner (or as some might say, a crazy cat lady). It's great to get away and leave the monotony of daily life behind for a little while, but when you've got pets, there are some responsibilities you can't forget as easily as a laundry basket of unwashed clothes. It's hard to be an explorer and also a good pet owner.

Your dog is your best friend, a part of your family, and the buddy that you always know you can rely on. Unfortunately, you might not always have the time to give your pup treats. Due to the nature of working, traveling, and just life in general, it can be hard to care for your pet.

So, anyone who has read my pet posts will know that I have a bit of an interesting pet. Roxy is a rescue dog, and, like most rescue dogs, she has a unique personality that has taken a while to get used to and figure out.
When my husband and I brought home our first baby, we used the cheapest litter we could find at the dollar store. As a kitten, Arno didn't mind it because it was litter, and he was being litter trained. But as he got a little older, I noticed he didn't seem that impressed with the litter that we were using. My husband and I went into Walmart and looked around at the other litter options, and had wanted to try a natural, non-clay litter. When we picked up the first bag, I wasn't sure how it would work. I had never used a natural litter, so I was skeptical. But when we changed out the old litter for the new, we found that Arno seemed to like it so much better. And he's not the only one.

I find that the best brand of toys, leashes, and harnesses to get your big dog are the ones made by Kong! I have a Pitbull mix and she can rip apart any toy you give her in a matter of seconds. It's amazing to watch how she does it, but the mess she makes is awful. Also, if she were to ever ingest any of the cotton or materials from the toys, it could harm her and it will cost a lot of money to take her to the vet. Also, due to the Pitbull breed, she tends to be very strong, so I needed a heavy duty leash and harness for her.
