On Wednesday, Aug. 12, the 41-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum took to Instagram to announce that Penny had died two nights prior "at home in her favorite spot in front of the fireplace." She paired the announcement with a multitude of photos of her pet, including several of them together and some of the special cat with Shay's daughter, Summer Moon Honey Davies, whom she shares with husband Brock Davies.

"17 years with my sweet girl and it still wasn't enough," Shay mourned in a heartfelt tribute.

She continued, writing, "I've experienced a lot of loss in my life, but this has been a unique kind of pain, one I've never known before. Penny Lane has been the constant through so many seasons of my life."

"From a tiny apartment in Hollywood, to the Vegas Strip, then the Marina, the desert, the beach in San Diego, and finally the Valley here in Los Angeles…she was there for all of it. The things she has seen…. people would pay good money for 😹," she joked.
