I Save an Animal a Day by Being Vegan

It's like being a guardian angel for animals

There are many animals in shelters, waiting to find their home.

But then there are those, who have little chance of being rescued...

The animals who get slaughtered each day.

Most Vegan journeys aren't easy.

In my experience, even though I've never aggressively told anyone to be Vegan — I still get people trying to debate the topic with me.

I mean, I'm all about keeping an open mind, but there is absolutely no need to question someone's life decisions.

And it wasn't just the people that made it hard. It was the diet and lifestyle adjustment, that was hard too.

Every Vegan goes through their own journey, but personally, coming from a family where meat was a staple — it took a lot of getting used to.

I had no idea how to cook vegan dishes, and soon, it was normal for me to feel tired and irritated.

But it wasn't because I was Vegan — it was because I wasn't educated on how to cook Vegan food.

Eventually, I got the hang of it. I feel better, and have more energy too!

My point is — this journey hasn't been an easy one.

But it's much easier than what animals (who get tortured/ slaughtered) have to go through.

So, no matter how hard it was turning down ice cream — I continued the vegan journey, and never looked back.

Some people think that one person being vegan doesn’t change much.

But that's not true at all.

According to this article by One Green Planet:

"Vegetarians save at least 404 animals per year (34 land animals, 219 fish, and 151 shellfish), which amounts to at least an animal a day!"

Imagine having the power to save an animal a day, in the comfort of your own home!

But convenience wasn't the reason I became Vegetarian (and now Vegan).

My story started when I was cooking dinner — and I happen to come across an image of a Mother Cow and her Baby Cow.

The Mother Cow cried when her Baby Cow was taken away from her...to be slaughtered.

And then it hit me. If this was my child, how would I feel?

Now, I get it, some animals eat animals. But they aren't as evolved as us, and I'm sure if they were — their hearts would be even bigger than ours...

I mean, look how happy dogs are when they see their owners. Their love is unconditional.

This brings me to my next point...

Who decided which animals are suitable to be pets — and those to be assigned as food?

I mean, if we grew up with baby pigs, lambs, and cows — would we look at them differently?

There's a reason why we can't watch Vegan documentaries.

Deep down, our hearts are with these animals.

I am not here to push you to be Vegan — I never have been.

I just want to share my personal journey on saving animals.

It's like if someone was writing about their favorite exercise plan. You don't have to like it, but if after reading about it, you to want to try it, then why not!

So I want to dedicate this story — to the animals who have been taken away from their families.

To the family of animals — who had their child, sibling, mother, or father taken away from them...

I will never stop telling your story.

I want to thank those — who are on this journey with me.

I may be one person, I may not be able to change the whole world — but I hope each day, I can save the life, of at least one mother's child...
