Groodle aka Goldendoodle in many parts of the world is a cross between the Golden Retriever and Poodle. As it is the product of two of the most intelligent and loving breeds, the end result is even cuter and smarter than the parents.

The Groodle dog would more likely to have a low-shedding coat that makes it an ideal breed for people who are allergic to dog hair. Along with that, it is a highly social, friendly, intelligent, and easy-to-train dog breed. At the moment, Groodle is clearly one of the top designer dogs in the US, Australia, Canada, the UK, and other countries. The other popular designer breeds are Pomsky, Bernedoodle, Cockapoo, and Labradoodle.

When did it come into existence?

In 1969, Monica Dickens (the great-granddaughter of Charles Dickens) crossbred the Golden Retriever and Poodle with the aim to develop a low-shedding dog with a greater lifetime and lovely personality of Golden Retriever. Luckily, the breeders kept breeding and improving this breed, and now, it is considered one of the healthiest breeds.

What's good about Groodles?

Their low-shedding coat, socio-friendly behavior with others especially kids and pets, trainability, and easy maintenance are some of the pros of having a Groodle dog. Plus, we can say that it is one of the best couch dogs that can spend hours with you sitting on the couch and watching television.

What's bad about Groodles?

There is nothing bad about any dog unless you don't train and socialize them properly. But there are some specifications that you should consider while getting a Groodle such as their slightly high exercise needs and separation anxiety.

What are the types of Groodles?

Well, Groodles come in several generations, sizes, and a plethora of colors. Given below are a quick intro to all of them.
