Cats make better pets than dogs! Cats are cheaper, lower maintenance, cleaner, quieter, require less space and smell a lot better than dogs!

Cats are so clearly the best choice for a pet, especially if you have a busy lifestyle because they are independent, self-groomers that do not require a lot of attention and with over fifty domestic cat breeds to choose from, there is the perfect cat for everyone!

Gone are the days where cats are viewed as an inferior pet reserved for lonely, elderly and eccentric misanthropes. Cats are becoming increasingly popular as pets and that is because they offer all the joys of pet ownership while requiring less work.

There are many well-known facts about cats that make them better pets, a common one is a cat's cleanliness, not only do cats clean themselves, but they quickly learn to discretely and tidily eliminate waste. Most kittens will become confident with using a litterbox when they are around a month old, so by the time your feline friend is ready to come home it will already know where to go. While litter boxes need to be frequently cleaned out, this is a lot easier to manage than having to anticipate your dog's bowel and bladder movements or crate training your canine companion.

Cats often get an unfair rap due to myths about what they are like as pets. A common criticism about cats is they make boring pets because they are not as playful as dogs, this is not always true, each cat breed has different common traits and while some may enjoy lounging around not doing much, there are plenty who love to play. Cats can even be trained to fetch small objects and walk on a lead. Even a napping cat provides endless entertainment with all the amusing poses it will shift into while sleeping. If you need some evidence of how entertaining cats can be, there are millions of funny cat videos that can be sourced online.

A common misconception about cats is that they are incapable of affection, many wrongly assume that because cats respect personal spaces that they do not love their owners. Numerous studies have revealed that cats do in fact love their owners, they just tend to express it in different ways to dogs. Cats also tend to be more selective with their affection this is what makes earning it a lot more rewarding, it definitely feels like quite the achievement when your furry friend snuggles up to you and power purrs in your arms. Cats might not constantly want attention but. many breeds enjoy frequent cuddles and pets, they just will not constantly demand attention which leaves you with plenty of time to do what you need to.

An aspect where cats do better as pets than dogs, is they do really well indoors and are content with spending a lot of time on their own. Cats enjoy both play and a lot of sleep and downtime, so leaving them home alone for hours will not be a problem for them and depending on the breed, they will begin to learn your schedule and be waiting at the door to greet you when you return.

Another major advantage of owning a cat over a dog if that cats are relatively quiet compared to a dog. Not only do cats meow at a lower volume than dogs bark but they generally make noise far less frequently. Unless a cat is hungry, unwell or desperate for attention it is rare for them to meow.

So, if you are looking for a new a furry companion that is happy to chill at home while you go to work but, still thrilled to see you when you get back, a cat is the only choice!
