All About Fur Babies Bakery Treats

By Sarah Elizabeth

I met Elizabeth in mid January 2021 and started to get to know her personality, her products, and how she got started in the business. Here is what I learned…

Backstory

Elizabeth works full time at a doggie daycare in Illinois, where she cares for dogs including bathing and grooming, feeding, potty breaks, and playtime. She also occasionally cares for the big dogs in daycare.

Since she started her job about a year ago, she has always brought in cookies and yummy treats for her fellow (human!) coworkers, and loves bringing joy to others. When an opportunity opened up to partner with her employer, the doggie daycare, and take on Fur Babies Bakery Treats to bake the dog treats sold at Double J Doggie Play and Stay daycare - she took quickly it! She has been learning the ins and outs of the biz including all the recipes from her successors of the business. Elizabeth takes pleasure in researching new treat recipes online and revising them with her own ingredient blends.

I recently met Elizabeth in a Facebook group for small businesses, and we quickly connected over our interests, passions, and ideas. We loved our similar niches and have been able to share ideas and strategies, without stepping on each other’s toes.

Expansion

She has grown her bakery from the daycare customer sales, and runs a Facebook page, where she sells her treats.

I received a sample of the woofles from Elizabeth recently and shared them with some fur friends in my neighborhod - Daisy (black lab / blue heeler mix), Herra (pitbull / boxer mix) who was playing at a park nearby, O’Hana (chihuahua), and Boo (pitbull) all gobbled up the yummy treats and begged for more! One rave reviewer on the Fur Babies Bakery Treats page from Kelsey talks about the wonderful cakes Elizabeth made for Kelsey’s babies’ “Gotcha Day”.

It’s no surprise everyone has reported wonderful experiences with Fur Babies Bakery Treats, as they are made with all the love and warmth Elizabeth has to offer.

Natural Ingredients

My most commonly requested allergens to exclude in my treats are peanut butter, and wheat. I have a separate menu for peanut butter treats (below), and I use coconut flour in place of wheat flour. All of my ingredients are all natural, and I use 100% whole wheat flour (never all purpose flour!); I sometimes add turmeric which helps with joint pain, or dill to help with digestion. I absolutely LOVE experimenting with new flavors and coming up with new recipes - my three taste testers love it too!
