Penny's two favorite things in life: sunbathing & the ball.

Penelope Rachel is a 3 year old Boston Terrier with energy and attitude to take on the world. She mesmerizes everyone she meets and can brighten your day moments after she trots into the room. If you have had the pleasure of knowing her, you already know she exudes human qualities, but regardless I am here to tell you a few reasons why.

1. If Looks Could Kill

Penny is able to convey several emotions and desires through her piercing hazel eyes, just by looking at you. Although Penny is unable to communicate verbally, her eyes are able to directly convey her wants and needs. As a result, Penny chooses not to communicate by barking, but rather through glares and stares. If you know Penny, I am sure you know what I mean. At precisely 8:30 PM, they seduce, at 10:00 PM they close, and at 7:00 AM they flutter open. However, the most striking look of them all is when she is staring at the most important thing in her universe: the ball.

A woman that knows what she wants, Penny strives to get her way just by giving you a striking look. Contrary to most dogs, it is never necessary to second guess what Penny needs. Hungry, tired, frustrated, and the desire to play fetch all have their own unique expressions communicated through her eyes.

2. Read the Room…

Penny always knows the vibe, an entity that perfectly matches the aura of a room. For example, Penny is able to put aside her immediate emotions to focus on the matter at hand. When taking care of her regarding an injury, she calms down immediately and allows me to assess the problem. Adaptable to any environment, Penny will scope out a comfortable nap location within minutes of arriving at a new location, making herself right at home.

3. Irrational Fears

Like you and I, Penny also gets spooked sometimes. She is frightened by garbage cans, vacuums, and balloons, but most of all, Penny is scared of drowning, therefore, she avoids water at all costs. Even her own water bowl can elicit fear deep within her core, but when she is in dire need to quench her thirst, she will stretch her little body as far away from the bowl as possible just to get a sip. In an effort to avoid this entirely, she will accept ice cubes as a suitable alternative where she can safely hydrate without fear.

4. Strictly Business, with an Attitude

Is Penny a dog? Is she a human? Dog human? An alien from outer space? No one will ever know. The only dog I know that will completely ignore other dogs, even other Boston Terriers, favoring humans every time. Penny is strictly business. She does not entertain petty dog play. She goes right to the humans to fulfill her play time needs.

Penny is methodical in every endeavor. She puts thought into even the simplest of things, including destroying her plush toys (tag first, always).

Penny is 3 going on 15, with the attitude of a grandma. Her early bedtime and ability to sleep in are further proof of such. When Penny does not get to bed on time she gets cranky and irritable, as seen in her blood-shot eyes and pink snoot.

5. Wake Up and Smell the Routine

Penny has a routine just like your average human. She pushes until the last possible minute to come out from under the covers while I get ready for work, waiting for the sound of her breakfast to be poured into her bowl. While I gather my belongings, Penny sprints back into bed after she finishes eating to get every last minute of comfort in before a long day at the office. When the time comes, she grudgingly gets back up and gets ready to head to work with me. We then head out the door together, ready to take on the world.

Upon stepping foot into the office, Penny first gathers her favorite squishy balls before going to greet all of her two-legged friends (all of you at Creatd). Her day is filled with endless hours of fetch and the occasional nap in the conference rooms. After a long day as CHO (Chief Happiness Officer), Penny comes home to wind down by chewing her favorite bone.

Penny is truly an old soul, as she appreciates life’s most simple pleasures, like napping in the sunlight and spending time with her loved ones. She is truly one of a kind and will leave an ever-lasting impression on everyone she meets.
