20 March 2023-

Blessed Ostara or so Mistress has been saying to everyone. Sorry we haven't been posting, must do better at this. Been kinda busy walking and posing for pics as well as playing in the local park. Mistress has started a new business, with our approval. Pet-Friendly Rental Finders. She said she set up a FB group and a Twitter account. What she tells us is this: she searches 20+ sites for appropriate properties for her clients who have pets and need to relocate. Mistress says it takes the stress off them, they have enough to deal with. We should know, we had stress when we moved over here, and she was the one that found us our first pet-friendly place here in England. She says she asks for a very reasonable finders fee. If you know of anyone who needs help finding a pet-friendly rental, please send them her way.

Anyway, our day today consisted of walking to the grassy area. The kids going to school love to watch Thistle chasing her ball around the field. Then we did our business, which Mistress cleaned up quickly. Then we walked downtown, saw our friend who owns the pet store. He said he didn't have any treats to give us today, but Mistress gave him two to give us. So all was good. Then we walked down the pavement, moved to the side when strollers and shopping trolleys went by. Then we walked home, sliding through the park for a bit more of a walk. Once home, anti-allergy capsules encased in chicken paste, dental treats given, water lapped up, breakfasts made and fed. Snooze time while Mistress read aloud. Laters! xx

Today was a very good day, Mistress was extremely pleased with our behaviour. She didn't wake up feeling dizzy from dehydration, which is good. We managed to get her up at a decent time. We walked up to the grassy area for our business and Thistle's ball play. Then we did what Mistress calls a medium-length walk. We went towards downtown on the normal route we'd take, then cut down by what she said was the pub. The pet store guy wasn't there today, but Mistress had us sniff the door, sit in front and gave us treats anyway. Then we walked on towards the park and home. Near the other pub in town, we moved to the side as there were a lot of people walking toward us with those little wheeled shopping bags. Then Mistress gave the cue to start walking again, but I didn't move as I heard something coming. She urged again, Thistle and I didn't move and a mobility scooter came whizzing by on the sidewalk. Mistress was proud of us and gave us a couple of treats for being cautious. We walked on, some shops were open, some were just opening and most were closed. We walked past the empty park, we did our extra business next to the boulder edging. We got home, unharnessed, Mistress ran upstairs quickly, then came back down. Anti-allergy pills in chicken paste given, then she forgot to give the dental treats, so I, Stirling, sat at the drawer and touched the handle several times with my nose, She finally realized, called Thistle and gave out the two treats. Mistress then fixed our breakfast, her tea and water bottle and we went into the front room to be fed. She feeds us by hand, first Thistle, then me. Then we snoozed while she read aloud, then did a lot of typing for her new business. Pet-Friendly Rental Finders UK She then got an email for her next paid audiobook, or so she says. Laters! x

Hello all!

Today was...interesting...to say the least. Mistress was nudged until she got up shortly after Master left for work. After locking the front door, we walked up to the grassy area, where Thistle quickly started spinning around and asking to be off belt leash to play ball. Mistress reminded her she needed to do at least the first part of her business first. So when we cleared the patch of trees, she did, Mistress left her off the belt leash and threw the ball for her. The first throw almost always goes wonky, as the ball sticks to Mistress' hand. We walked up and around as usual, Mistress throwing the ball down the hill so Thistle got tired out by climbing back up it. I found an interesting smell, so I started digging to find it. Once satisfied, and Thistle tired out, Mistress put her back on the belt leash and we walked on to do our other business. When bagged up and tied, we started to walk toward the bin to toss it. Two little loudmouth dogs saw Mistress first and started barking. I barked twice at them to shut up as Mistress guided us along the fence line away from them while they passed by. Thistle and I sat and looked at Mistress and ended up getting treats! So THAT'S how we're supposed to do it! Now I get it! When the loudmouths were a good distance away, yet still yapping, Mistress guided us to the bin, tossed the bags in and we walked the medium size walk, through the side pavement, toward the post office, then we went left, I went to sniff the trees, we sniffed the grass and Mistress guided us around the broken glass on the ground. We walked down by the barrel boys pub as she calls it. Then we walked back by the post office, toward the park and home. When we got to the park, a Weimeraner was walking with its owner toward the park. Mistress had us sit and we automatically looked at her and paid no attention to the 'ghost dog' (we call it that because of its coat colouring). Mistress praised us and we walked on home. Harnesses off, we were given our anti-allergy capsules in salmon paste, dental treats given, then off to snooze while Mistress worked. Laters! x
