Here Are a Few Tips for Traveling with Pets:

#1 Getting Your Pet Checked

Before going on a trip with your pet you must get your pet checked by the vet to ensure the health of your pet & the best way to do it is by getting a health certificate for your pet. The health certificate of your pet provides that your pet has rabies vaccination as it is necessary if you board your pet.

The vet also checks the heartworms & other vaccinations such as Bordetella, parvo, and even Lyme disease depending on where you are going to travel with your pet. So if you are traveling abroad with your pet, especially to these locations (Canada, Mexico) then it requires more paperwork than usual & for some, it may have a quarantine period as well it is one of the important tips for people who are first time traveling with your dog.

#2 Tags on Your Pet

So basically tags are not only for your luggage you must have a collar strapped on your pet which should have the address & the number before leaving. So that while traveling there should be a second tag, you can also have a microchip that can be implanted under your skin as a permanent id. These can only be ready by special scanners. You can also carry another picture of your dog which is clicked recently & can be copied for making it easy to recognize the pet & return back to you.

#3 Do Planned Packing for Your Pet

As pets mainly stay indoors for longer periods of time so they like the comfort of their homes such as bedding, toy, brush & their own dishes in which they eat. It comes in different sizes, shaped & materials & big enough so your pet can sit and lie down.

Dogs love trucks but it is also true that around 1 lakh dogs die from falling from a pickup truck every year. Bumps on the road or sudden turns can throw your pet from its seat resulting in death or injuries to your pet. #8 Temperature Is Important

Your pets can not tell you if they are feeling cold or hot so if you are wearing a jacket then your pet might require a blanket as well. During hot weather, it is advised to open a window or raise the air conditioning to prevent overheating or dehydration, it is also not advised for leaving your dog or any pet alone in the car.

#9 Frequent Breaks

Just like you your pet also wants to stretch its body but your pet requires it more than you do. So while planning an Exciting Road Trip with your pet you should be ready to take frequent pit stops. Taking time with your pet can help you take in some interesting sights along your trip.

#10 Avoid Choking Hazards or Poisons

Some dogs eat anything, but while traveling can a spill of antifreeze can be fatal for a cat, dog, or even bird so this is one of the main tips for traveling with cat. So while traveling it is advised to shift from conventional ethylene glycol antifreeze which is much less toxic if compared with other antifreeze fluids.
