Cats are incredible creatures. They are graceful, curious, independent, loving, and animals from which we can learn many things.

They live their lives by instinctive habits and can be a good example for us humans to do the same because we often forget to enjoy the small pleasures of life.

Worshiped by the ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago, cats have always been considered true saviors by reducing the number of rodents.

Nowadays they are a symbol of the perfect pet.

Take care of yourself

The most fascinating thing about cats is the attention they pay to hygiene. It's amazing how much time my cat spends taking care of her, with so much dedication and pleasure.

She cleans herself properly after she has eaten, and when I have caressed her too much, she carefully arranges her fur. We humans often misunderstand hygiene. Some like to use too much perfume, after-shave, makeup, or hair gel.

At the other end of the spectrum are those who forget to brush their teeth, shower every day, or comb their hair. Hygiene is important because it means taking care of our body, not only cleaning it but also exercising.

My cat is also a true yoga teacher. It stretches all the time and does not stay in one position for too long, being always active.

Listen to your body

When it comes to food, we are sometimes incredibly obsessed with new food trends. Many of us have lost touch with our bodies and are either in love with junk food or the newest weight loss diet.

Cats have a simple diet. They drink a lot of water and only eat when they are hungry. We must learn, again, to listen to our body and give it only what it needs.

Learn to trust

Some time ago, I found my cat wandering the streets after days of searching. He had wounds on his body and was missing a tooth. I took her to the vet and she needed a good amount of time to recover. I wondered how he felt while living on the streets because he had signs of abuse.

At the moment she was cautious and scared, but as time went on, she began to trust me again. This is a good lesson for us because if we suffer trauma we extend it over years or develop unhealthy habits to heal ourselves. Animals are very different.

Yes, they have a memory, but they are very good at forgetting negative experiences and giving themselves the chance to enjoy life again.

Give and receive love

Cats offer love naturally. When they feel like sharing a moment of affection, they simply come to you, and with a simple "meow" they manage to offer more than they can imagine.

When she doesn't want to be bothered anymore, a cat simply leaves, without upsetting anyone. We humans have forgotten what it is like to give love without expecting anything in return. And even when we receive it, we do not do better because we often hurt others through our actions.

Have fun

Most cats love to play with simple things - strings, balls, or anything that moves. In our hectic lives, we often forget to have fun.

For example, to play a board game, to enjoy a team sport, or to get lost in the fantastic world of a book or a movie. There are dozens of ways to feel like a child again and be free.

Appreciate the simple things

A toilet, food, a place to sleep and love - this is what a cat needs to feel happy.

Society teaches us that we need the latest smartphone, the most expensive vacation, the trendiest clothes - that means being happy.

In reality, it is the exact opposite. We need more simplicity in our lives. And when you discover the beauty of the simple things in life, you will be truly fulfilled.

Live the moment

Animals have an impressive ability - once something happens to them that causes either joy, anger, or fear, they feel the emotion for a moment, then forget.

Cats do not judge or contradict each other. That's how it should be. Every moment and experience is an energy that passes through us, but people tend not to let that energy flow over them. To live the moment means to give up analyzing and thinking too much, to let yourself be carried away by the tide, and to be present.

Be careful

Cats never lose their focus. Whether they are cleaning, eating, or sleeping, they are always attentive to everything that happens around them. Their little ears are constantly moving and their nose is always active.

They can focus on one thing, but they will not lose their distributive attention. Something we could put into practice.

Maintain eye contact

Cats' eyes are truly magical. They have no fear of connecting deeply with people. When was the last time you looked anyone in the eye for more than two seconds?

We tend to avoid eye contact because we feel uncomfortable. It is said that the eyes are the window to the soul. Let's learn to trust again, open up to others, and let ourselves be exposed.

Explore

Cats never stop exploring. He never loses his desire to venture out and learn new things. How many of us get stuck in routine, habits, and laziness? This world has so much to offer, and life is so short.
