The Broken Heart
My name is Caroline Jenkins I have nine kids and a husband name Nelson Jenkins I am a house wife while my husband works; he works at his own company. I had a friend name Jessica Turner she had been my friend since Pre-K we did everything together. She was their for me when my parents died and when I was in an abusive relationship she was my strength and my fire. She needed a place to stay in a couple of weeks Jessica's house weren't finished yet. So I, immediately told her; she could little did I know that was the worse decision ever. Soon as Jessica came over she came over that night I was so excited I told her let's go out to drink; I called the babysitter for the kids then soon she came we left with our bags and went straight towards the bar. As soon as we made it at the bar we had ordered some Martina's and started catching up because we haven't seen each other in three months. Jessica told me how she was working at this company and she never had time to take off and how her new job is the best. So I asked her, "Where's mystery guy?" She laughed, and said, "Oh, I'm single." Confused I asked, " What happened to Daniel I hooked you both up together." She said with a grinned, "He wasn't my type." She started to ask me about Nelson I told her how he is so amazing to me and the kids he just works a lot. I left to go to the bathroom came back she ordered two more Martina's then we had gotten round after round then she asked me did I remember what we did in our college dorm I said yea. She did something so shocking she kiss me and told me let's go back home so I did I gave the babysitter her money. My husband was gone on a business trip so we went in my room and started kissing we both started taking off our clothes and made passionate love. My kids always go over their dad mom's house for the entire summer break. Soon after they left I started spending more time with Jessica. Nelson came back on his trip didn't even acknowledge me then I started realizing he stayed later and later. Jessica finally said, "Do you thinks he cheating something not right?" Then I said, " I know I have been having a weird feeling lately." She gave me the idea to follow him so I did one day but, every time I did he would always catch me I went to Jessica and asked her what I should do she told me to just hire a private detective so I did. About three weeks he took picture and he have been cheating on me even before we got married he actually cheated on me on our wedding day. As soon as he came in I stop him and said, "did you cheat?" I had a gun pointed right at him "choose wisely," I said He then broke down and said yeah. I immediately told him I want a divorce and that I'm keeping the kids and that he will get equal rights to them and I'm keeping the house. He didn't fight me on it and sign the divorce papers that I had put on the table. Soon we went to court then Jessica had told me she always wanted to be with me then I said, "that's why you sabotage my marriage" with a shocked look on her face, Jessica said, "how..." I said with a smile, " my private detective did some more digging and happened to see you both meeting up." With ashamed look on her face she asked me was I mad the thing was I wasn't because I always wanted to be with her but, at the time my parents never approved of same sex relationship now that they both dead I don't have a reason to hide it. I walk up to her and kiss her then we made love again. Nelson stayed telling me how sorry he was and how he wanted me back I told him I was going with Jessica he looked hurt. I started going out to clubs coming home late drunk. I met this girl name Alexis we started hanging out then I went over her house we made love I just kept going over her house little did Jessica and Nelson knew I knew they was messing around I found out that Jessica always wanted my life so I started talking to Alexis while Nelson was gone all night to be with Jessica I was with Alexis after me and Nelson gotten a divorce she had propose and I said yea I had told my kids about me and Alexis they was so happy and actually liked Alexis they told me how they never liked Jessica. Jessica came over my fiancé answer the door with a dumb look on her face she asked who was she I told her to come in. I told her how I knew she was having an affair with Nelson and how I knew she didn't want me she just used me to get closer to him and to get him mad. I slap her across the face and told next time you try to be a slut make sure the spouse is stupid I told her to get out and to never come back. I guess it's true what people say a broken heart can get fix by the right lover.

I walked down the corridor in my school on the ground floor, I looked up from the ground to see Gina Hall. Gina has been my best friend since we were three, she has brown hair with big curls, dark brown eyes that almost look black and olive skin. I have blonde straight hair and light caramel eyes. She stops me and says “Hey, Hayley!” I wave my hand. With my heart racing. Gina loves me, she always says she couldn’t have asked for a better friend and that we tell each other everything.

Have you ever believed there was a reason you were here on earth? Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you never existed? What impact have you had on people and society as a whole? It is hard to see that, but if we look deeply into our lives like Milly Gaves once did. Milly Gaves was just at the age of 25 when her life changed forever. Milly worked part-time in an Olive Garden while trying to get her marketing degree in college. She left out her one-bedroom apartment going to work one night after a full day of classes. She was tired and the vigorous rain poured down and made it difficult for her to see out of her windshield. Her car needed maintenance for a few weeks but she couldn't afford for it to be fixed. The darkness weighed in on the slippery road. She road in the darkness before her car shut down and she pulled over to the side. The rain was heavy and so was her heart, she suffered from the need to leave her house, to try, to live. She cried alone in her car, before a loud crash from the back and spun her car around and around making her dizzy as she screamed in terror. The car flipped and rolled down a hill and crashed into a line of trees. Milly awoke in a room with only two doors. Both doors were black. She called out but no one answered. She knocked on the doors but no answer. Her hands trembled as she was confused. A low mumble voice appeared upon the dark corners of the room. A man walked towards her, he was tall and had a soft, sweet, welcoming face. "Milly, do not be afraid, you are in the between, you are safe. " The man stated. "The between?" She asked with her voice broken and shaken. "yes, the between. This is the place where you are in between life and death." He explained. " Here is where you may choose life or death and see what many never get the chance to. These doors show you something about your life, you have to decide from them, whatever is shown is by fate alone. Do you understand?" He asked. "I believe so..." She replied as her voice quivered. His hand moved so elegantly as he welcomed her to the doors. She walked to the one on the left and opened it slowly walking into the bright room. There laid a pregnant lady holding her newborn baby wrapped in beautiful pastel pink. There was a man in the chair beside her laying there asleep. The man awakes and smiles at the sleeping lady until he watches her sleep and his face loses all color and he jumps up from his sleep and yells, "nurse! " he takes the baby in his hands and tears rush to his eyes. A few nurses rush in and take the lady by her hand and start checking every vital. The man cries and holds his baby. " I promise to you princess, I will take care of you until my last breath, nothing bad will happen to you. " He says to the child as the room begins to darken. Milly stands breathless, her eyes are leaking amounts of water and love. The room begins to brighten and she sees her childhood church. Her younger self makes cards for all the elders in the church and makes them smile. The elders thank her and hug her. Many of the elders felt the happiness they forgot existed and a smile that has been hidden away for years. The room darkens as it only brightens in Milly's old house with her dad with his broken leg laying on his bed watching TV. Her younger self helping her dad with his foot. Bringing him food and making sure he is comfortable. Working around the house cleaning and things. At night they would play board games and cards to keep her father entertained. She sacrificed so much to help her dad, he was everything so important to her. Watching all the good times Milly had with her father her eyes filled with tears and her heart was heavy. The next room became too bright and she saw her dear dad the man she loved laying in a hospital bed, weak, and old. Milly called out, " hey between spirit man! how do I leave from here? I don't wanna watch my father die again. Please let me out of here." she walked over to his bed and looked upon him as she once did only a short 3 years ago. She held his hand and sobbed and he looked up at her and smiled. " My dear Milly, You are so beautiful and strong, I know you will make me proud. Go live your life live the life I and your mother always wanted for you. Get your education and go find someone in your life who will love you as much as I did and take life as its best and live it to the fullest. Milly, I love you, my sweet princess. I want you to go forward and only learn from your past. " She cried on his chest before she returned to the between. Milly wiped her tears away and looked to the other door. She walked in to see a beautiful house with two children running around and a beautiful woman with short brown hair and a smile that brightens the room. Milly smiles as she realizes this is the future she wants. Her father never approved of her choice to want a woman but Milly talked to her father's spirit that made that void complete. She has finally understood she has done more than be a disgrace to her father, she finally understood that she has helped so many people, and she finally understood that her life has a purpose. She smiles and whispers to herself, " I want to live..." She awakes in a hospital bed and there sits the beautiful woman she saw in her vision. " Tiff? " she whispers. " Milly?" the woman asked. Milly reached out and grabbed the woman's hand and smiles, " I want to live! I will marry you, Tiff. I want to be your wife. " The woman's eyes widen. " but I thought you didn't want to be together because of your dad?" Milly smiles and says " He approves, he wants me happy. " They embrace and plan their beautiful happy wedding.

I've decided to continue documenting the progression of our open marriage here. I'll be updating it in near real-time. The past few days have been rough for me. I already talked about how the open marriage inadvertently brought to the surface a few of my own insecurities and shortcomings, but another one I wasn't necessarily prepared for would be the change in dynamic that inevitably happens - less time and attention between the two of us.

“Is there anything better than to be longing for something when you know it is within reach?” ~Greta Garble Standing around the campfire, the couples were chatting about how they met. Deidre and Jamie, the only lesbian couple at the retreat, felt a bit on the edges of everyone there. Although many of the people they’d met had been more than welcoming and kind, there was still a hint of an unspoken “outsiders” air that had been assigned to them. One that, although, was not spelled out by word of mouth, could still be felt. Despite this being the case, it hadn’t deterred them from joining in group conversations. Finally, it was their turn to tell the story of how they’d met. They had decided amongst one another that Deidre would be the one to speak.

The only brick house on Sunnyside Lane is entirely too large for two people. The grandiose pillars lining the front porch too bare without someone to twirl around them, the sturdy oak trees grounded in the well-maintained yard just passionless without an old tire swing, and the rooms inside, I’m sure, echo at the drop of a pen. Only a husband and his wife now live there, such has been true for ten years.

So, that was your grand plan then? Just keep it a secret forever? No, but - you don’t understand. They aren’t like your friends. This will change the way everyone looks at me.
Taking a Vow
People commonly make promises, engagements, and even vows of marriage, and bestow their lover a ring. I, however, chose to express my vow of devotion to the love of my life in a way that I cannot reverse, exactly how I feel a marriage should be.
Brenden RollsPublished 4 years ago in MarriageHow to Plan a Same Sex Wedding
When planning a same sex wedding, it's inevitable that your big day is going to veer away from the traditional wedding style in many ways. Traditional wedding ceremonies have a religious structure, and in many churches, gay couples are not accepted. Of course, in today’s society, we know that newlyweds are not always strictly man and woman. We have an understanding that marriage equality should allow all couples to marry regardless of gender, because love is love. Regardless of whether you hold a traditional wedding or not, having your family and friends present is what will legitimize your marriage and make your big day special. Therefore, when you plan a same sex wedding, it may be unique, but it will definitely be special, regardless of tradition.
