The second element of the Rhetorical Triangle is the audience. Understanding the audience is critical to the success of the communication. The audience's values, beliefs, attitudes, and knowledge about the topic being discussed must be considered when crafting the message. A successful speaker or writer must be able to use language and ideas that are familiar and relatable to the audience, while also anticipating their reactions to the message. A deep understanding of the audience is essential for creating a connection with them and engaging them in the communication.

It is important to balance the amount of information presented to the audience with their level of interest and comprehension.

The final element of the Rhetorical Triangle is the message. The message is the content of the communication and must be well-crafted to effectively connect with the audience. The message must be clear, concise, and relevant to the audience. A successful message is one that uses supporting evidence and reasoning to back up any claims made. It must also be delivered in a format that is appropriate for the audience, such as written text, spoken word, or visual media. A well-crafted message is persuasive and engages the audience by appealing to their emotions and reasoning.

The speaker or writer must use appropriate and effective language to convey their message. This can include rhetorical devices such as metaphor, repetition, and imagery. The language used must be appropriate for the audience and must take into account the audience's cultural and social context. The three elements of the Rhetorical Triangle are interdependent and must work together to achieve successful communication.
