Cory and Amaka - These two people were meant for each other. Amaka is a beautiful, Nigerian-American woman. She is a 27-year-old Writer/Director. She's just became a writer on an amazing black, comedy show called "The Newlyweds." She has also directed a few episodes of TV. Cory is a fine, 28-year-old accomplished song-writer. He's been working on his craft since he was 18-years-old. Amaka and Cory met through mutual friends at a concert one night three years ago. They hit it off. Cory asked her out, and the rest is history. They've been dating for 2 years now. Yes marriage is on the brain. They're both celibate. They know they want to be together for a lifetime. They really love each other. Amaka can't imagine her life without Cory, and vice-versa. Their 2 year anniversary is coming up, and Cory plans to make the engagement special.

Cory is taking Amaka on a weekend get-away. They drove to San diego, and rented a house through Air BnB. This weekend is going to be perfect. As Cory is pulling up, Amaka sees a Barn Owl by the tree. She stares at Cory. Cory looks at her back like 'What?' Did you not see that Owl? Cory looks in her direction to see it, " Oh shit- I mean. Lord Jesus," Cory says. Amaka chuckles a little at Cory's reaction " It caught me off guard." As they get out the car, and grab their things, she smiles. Amaka says to Cory, "What you got planned this weekend." An owl is usually seen as bad omen in some cultures, but Amaka understands that white owls also means wisdom, and fierce intelligence. Her intuition was already activated about this weekend, but after seeing the owl, that's a sign. Cory responds, "Nothing, just a good weekend, celebrating our anniversary." Amaka looks at him with the side-eye, "Okay cool."

Friday night, no proposals. Saturday night, which is their anniversary, no proposal. A good time? yes with food, relaxation, and adventure. Amaka started to think, 'I guess he was right. An anniversary proposal is predictable anyway. Cory will propose soon though.' Cory and Amaka were leaving Monday which was labor day. It was their last night. The beautiful couple decided to go out for dinner. Cory brought up going somewhere fancy for dinner, and ofcourse Amaka was all down for that. While she was getting dressed, Cory set everything up in the backyard. Amaka steps out the room, "Babe, have you seen my gold earrings?" She said to Cory. She starts to hearing an acoustic guitar playing - yes Cory brought his guitar. The music playing sounded like "All Of Me" by John Legend. Amaka walks out. Cory starts singing the chorus. Tears begin to flow. She's careful because she is determined to not ruin her makeup. Cory begins to play and sing the chorus " Marry me" By Train. Amaka can't stop crying while standing in front of Cory. He gets down on one knee." I knew it!" Amaka says. They both laugh.

Cory breathes out. He pauses for a second and says, " Amaka Marie-Terese Monjok. You are my purpose-partner, my life partner, and my best friend. You are literally everything I ever wanted. You love Jesus, you're kind, goofy, humble, romantic, loyal, honest, trustworthy, and you're my best friend. I'm so so grateful for you - each and everyday. Your smile and light brings me so much joy. So, I have one question, Will you marry me?" And of course her answer was yes. He places the beautiful, square-cut diamond ring on her finger. They hug, and kiss. This isn't the end, but only the beginning of their love story.
