Whether you're looking to explore a gorgeous city, sample mouthwatering cuisine, or simply lay out on the beach staring out at turquoise-blue water, there's a destination that can give you exactly what you desire. Here are some great fairytale vacations to consider.

1. Playa del Carmen, México

If you want to avoid the spring break vacationers in Cancun but still want to enjoy white sand beaches and crystal-clear water, head to Playa del Carmen. It will be hard to resist spending all day at the pool, the beach, and then at a restaurant. However, if you want to make your trip unique, visiting a cenote is simply a must. The Yucatan Peninsula is home to a number of these natural sinkholes, which offer some of the best snorkeling and diving in the region. They're also incredibly Instagram-worthy.

If you're staying at a resort, you'll have everything you need in terms of food. However, if you do want to sample fine cuisine in Playa del Carmen's center, head to Alux restaurant. It's built in a natural cave, and you can take a tour after your meal.

2. Paris, France

Yes, Paris sounds like a cliche, but it truly lives up to its name. It's worth visiting for a honeymoon, a vacation, a weekend, and more. Grab a private jet charter in New Jersey, and arrive at your romantic getaway in a luxurious fashion. There are so many things to do in Paris that even after a few trips, you probably won't have seen everything.

To get a real feel for the city, stay in the center, in the 3rd or 4th arrondissement. If you're looking for something more upscale, head to the 16th arrondissement, which will put you smack in between the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. There's nothing better than taking a morning stroll to the Eiffel Tower without the crowds.

Paris is a food and museum city, so visiting the museums are a must. As for food, if you're feeling daring, try steak tartare in a restaurant and the delicious foie gras. Foie gras is a delicacy in France, usually reserved for special occasions and Christmas. But many restaurants have it on their menu. Want to dine in one of the oldest cafes in Paris? Make reservations at Le Procope. It opened in 1686.

3. Tahiti

Tahiti is what fairytales are made of. Just ask Paul Gauguin. Tahiti offers an almost ideal getaway with its picturesque Matavai Bay and Papenoo beaches. If you're itching to see more than just beaches, you can take a tour of the island. Don't miss Maraa Grotto. This beautiful cave is located in the heart of the island, and it features a waterfall and a natural swimming pool.

If you're a fan of Paul Gauguin, visit the Paul Gauguin museum. Later, try the local cuisine. Mahi Mahi, a type of fish grilled or served in stews, and Po'e, a dessert made from mashed bananas, taro, and breadfruit, are good places to start.

4. Venice, Italy

Is there any other floating city in the world? If you just want to visit Venice for the sights and the food, you won't be disappointed. However, you should take advantage of the city's most unique offering: the Venice Carnival Festival. The city takes on a surreal feel with all the masks, but you'll really get a peek into what Venice was like in the 13th century. Grab a Venetian drink and some light bites, and enjoy what the city has to offer. Try a Bellini - a popular Venetian cocktail made from Prosecco and white peach purée - and snack on Cichetti, a small Venetian snack.

5. New Zealand

If you and your partner love nature, you can't beat New Zealand. The best way to see a lot of what New Zealand has to offer is by renting a van and exploring its mountains, beaches, forests, and lakes. Don't miss Milford Sound, a stunning fiord located in the southwestern part of the South Island, or the Waitomo Caves, a series of underground caves located in the Waikato region. You'll get to see stalactites, stalagmites, and glowworms. New Zealand is a blend of European, Asian, and Polynesian cuisines, and you can chow down on kiwi fruit, tamarillo, and high-quality lamb dishes while you're there.

6. Seychelles

Seychelles isn't often on people's radar when they think of a vacation, but it is one of the most stunning places to visit. The country is made up of 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean and is known for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. Seychelles offers breathtaking islands, such as Mahe and Praslin. (Praslin has Anse Lazio beach, considered one of the best beaches in the world.)[1] And if you want to stay in a hotel on a private island, you can do that here.

Seychelles is mainly made up of the Seychellois Creole, so the cuisine is predominantly curries. You can try a variety of curries in the local restaurants as well as the street food curry, known as chicken curry roti.

7. Prague, Czech Republic

If Paris feels too much of a cliche, consider Prague instead. Located on the banks of the Vltava River, Prague offers some of the most stunning architecture in Europe: Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Old Town Square. Make sure to sample the traditional Czech cuisine while you're there. There's the beef stew, Guláš, delicious fried cheese, Smažený sýr, and their famous dumplings, knedlíky. Czech beer is considered some of the best in the world, so it wouldn't be a full visit if you didn't visit some of the local breweries in Prague. Their popular ones are Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen, and Budweiser Budvar.

8. Costa Rica

Feel like ziplining through tropical rainforests or hiking up majestic mountains? Then Costa Rica should top your list. You can zipline at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, go rafting or kayaking on the Pacuare River, or even take a canopy tour. If you want to photograph something otherworldly, head to Arenal Volcano National Park. The park is home to the Arenal Volcano, one of the most active in the world.

Want to try local cuisine? Have ceviche as an appetizer, a dish made from raw fish or seafood marinated in citrus juice and flavored with spices. Try their delicious empanadas, too.

So, Where To?

There's so much beauty in the world and so much to see that eight destinations can't possibly cover what the world has to offer. However, this list does give you a glimpse into some of the fairytale destinations you can experience.
