Autumn has arrived in our lives, bringing with it a copper carpet of leaves, a dark layer of clouds, and, of course, the new collections in stores. But it also came with an often annoying fact: moving the laundry to be dried from the terrace or balcony in the house.

In the humid weather conditions outside, it is quite difficult to dry your clothes by hanging them on the balcony.

But if you don't have a washer with a dryer, what other solution could you use than throwing your beloved clothes at home?

We agree with you, but we can't help but notice that what you're doing is dangerous! Find out below what we mean!

Give up drying your laundry at home!

We are more and more scared of mites and we have every reason: these microorganisms are responsible for many health problems. But how do they manage to populate your house in overwhelming numbers?

First of all, it's about the humidity environment, which comes, as you expected, and the clothes you dry in the house. The water in them evaporates into the atmosphere and gives rise to the environment that mites simply adore.

Add a few layers of dust (we know how difficult it is to find the time to clean, as in the book) and you have just created the right conditions for mites to love your home!

And these seemingly insignificant beings are far more dangerous than you think! First of all, they cause allergies, health problems that have become more and more common lately.

Furthermore, it is a nightmare for all those who suffer from asthma. Worse, if you ignore these inconveniences, you may end up suffering from respiratory conditions over time!

Unfortunately, the above theory is not just a muted warning from frightened specialists, but it has a very real foundation.

It was the subject of a study by The Department of Environmental Architecture Investigation in Glasgow, Scotland, which studied 100 homes across the country. Among their owners, 87% dried their clothes inside, especially during the cold season.

The authors of the study then analyzed the conditions in the dwellings and concluded that they had a perfect humidity coefficient for the development of mites.

Even more worryingly, their occupants suffered from a weakened immune system or even lung infections, some of which were caused by harmful microorganisms in their homes.

How to prevent complications when drying your clothes at home

Of course, the ideal solution, which immediately rises before our eyes, would be for everyone to own a washing machine equipped with a dryer. But here are some issues. First of all, these appliances are expensive.

Furthermore, they pose a danger to the environment due to high power consumption. We can't forget the clothes either, as many of our delicate pieces are affected by the harsh action of the dryer.

However, the specialists offer you some tips that will help you dry your clothes at home with a minimum of danger!

Leave room between clothes when dry. Whether you hang them on the rope or put them on the metal tumble dryer, do not gently stick them together, but let them breathe. This will make them ready faster, and the moisture absorbed into the atmosphere will be lower.

Turn them from side to side. Especially when dealing with bulky clothes made of thick materials, you will have the impression that it takes an eternity to dry them. However, if you are careful to return them constantly, you will reduce this interval.

Use a hairdryer. It's not for nothing that hair dryers are called that, isn't it? If you have small items, such as a top or a T-shirt, flush them with your hairdryer: your washing machine has absorbed the largest amount of water from them anyway.

Put them in the freezer. Have you ever felt more thirsty after a forced cold walk than during a heatwave? The reason is that the cold dehydrates. Take advantage of this principle and store your freshly washed clothes in the freezer, in a plastic bag: you will be surprised at how quickly it dries.

If you do not want to suffer from health problems due to common causes, avoid drying your laundry in the house! Follow our tips and you'll see the difference quickly!
