The pièce de résistance!

A sofa is the pièce de résistance of any well-rounded living space. It is where we entertain, talk, eat, and relax. Most people’s ideal night in revolves around a big comfortable sofa, friends, and food. Many happy memories will be made with your plush seating companion, yet there is a certain reluctance to splurge on a sofa!

People have started viewing sofas as vessels for spillages, accidents, and overuse. This more often than not leads people in to purchasing a cheaper sofa and subsequently treating it badly. Personally, I think people need to get passionate about sofas and I believe they deserve all the love they can get. So here are my four reasons why you should consider a splurge on your next sofa:

1) Your sofa will be the most used piece of furniture in your living room, it is where you spend most of your time sitting, chatting, reading, and relaxing— therefore it has to be the perfect perch. What we mean by this is that you need your sofa to be robust, be hardwearing, and be durable. Remember, your sofa will be sat on every single day for its entire lifespan, so splurging on something high quality is a sound investment! A higher quality sofa will give you assurance that your bottom will find comfort for years to come.

2) Your sofa works as the rooms anchor, it is the statement piece and sets the tone for the overall room design. Remember alongside being the most used piece of furniture, your sofa is also the largest piece in the room, this means that the style of your space is heavily influenced by your sofa. You want your sofa to establish the mood of the space and be a starting point for all other pieces of furniture and accessories. It would be easily forgiven if a smaller piece of furniture wasn’t quite right but with a sofa you need to ensure that you invest in the perfect piece to guarantee the whole room sings!

3) A sofa is a timely investment; in that you want to make sure you are purchasing something that will be able to stand the tests of time. So although that bargain sofa may in theory look great, you have to consider its durability and longevity. Purchasing a higher quality sofa will ensure that it is still looking brand new in years to come!

4) Don’t be put off by the thought of a sofa which may not be in vogue in times to come. Once you have the right piece for your space, entertainment needs, and comfort— you can let your imagination go wild. Consider seasonal cushion and throw changes, autumnal browns, winter reds and golds, and springtime pastels. Project managing your sofa will make it feel fresh and will instantly give your room that newly decorated appeal.

So, when the time comes to replace your sofa, bear in mind that bargain isn’t always best. Consider making a purchase that will pay off in style, quality, and longevity. A sofa that will make a statement in your space and provide you with the perfect place to settle in.
