Christmas comes but once a year, so why is it that some people leave it until the last minute to get the perfect gifts for the special people in their life? I have to say that, men, I am really looking at you. Of course, there are those who are efficient and have their presents purchased, wrapped and ready by mid-September, for all the rest of us here is a guide for perfect gifts for any pocket.

From the ultimate opulence to perfect stocking fillers, these are the gifts which will keep you on the "nice" list this season.

For the Disney Lover – $$$$

They know every line to every Disney song and still cry when Bambi’s mom gets shot (look, who doesn’t?). Therefore, to please the true Disney lover, you need to push the boat out, or rather the ship.

Everyone knows about the amazing parks; however, fewer people are aware that Disney has a fleet of four cruise liners: the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and the Disney Fantasy. Each ship is unique with the level of service that only Disney can offer and of course the chance to meet some special guests.

It is Disney after all so you must meet Captain Mickey...

The ships offer amazing entertainment, from 24-hour Disney and Pixar film channels, open air Disney cinema on deck, and amazing Broadway shows at sea. The ships are styled on the old fashioned elegance of the golden age of cruising and offer luxury in every way.

Cruises around the Caribbean include a visit to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, where you can snorkel with rays, swim in the crystal clear waters, or just relax and enjoy the sun and white sand.

If you feel only the best will do, go for a Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah providing two separate ensuite bathrooms including a whirlpool tub, living room, a dining salon, pantry and wet bar stocked, and a walk-in closet.

For the Lover of Sparkle… $$$ – $$$$$

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Well, they can be perfect for anyone who loves a touch of sparkle in their life. The metastable allotrope of carbon, they are better known as the ultimate, timeless gift.

Diamonds are graded according to the 4Cs—cut, color, clarity, and carat. The cut is often thought to be the most important as it controls the amount of sparkle the stone will have; when it is cut correctly it will reflect light perfectly. Color actually refers to a lack of color, the less coloration within the stone the higher the grade from D to Z. Colorless diamonds are graded D to F, near colorless are grades G to J. These grades have color generally invisible to the naked eye. Beyond this, the grades K to Z have noticeable color and are therefore often less expensive. Clarity indicates any flaws within the stone, from FL (flawless) to I3 (heavily flawed). Diamonds graded VS1 and higher have flaws which are generally invisible to the naked eye.

Whether you select a diamond necklace, bracelet, or earrings you can be assured it will be well received.

For the Person Who Is Missing Home – $

If their home is beautiful and they are rightly proud about it, you can't go wrong by buying a beautiful deluxe candle. There are many choices.

If your loved one has moved across the country they may well be missing home, especially at Christmas. So why not buy them a candle which will bring them right home with the smell of their own state. The Homesick Candle Company produce special candles for each US state, from the fruity, floral fragrance that mixes notes of magnolia and aster flower with Georgia's prided peaches and a soft undertone of white musk of Georgia to a dark leather, fresh pine, and thick lemon slices fragrance with a floral note of cyclamen and a touch of sage help balance the big bold scents of the Lone Star State of Texas.

They also have a variety of memory candles from Grandma’s Kitchen and Books to the Friday Night Football candle, which promises a scent of rich leather mixed with fresh grass, dirt, and some concession popcorn. Hints of musk and cedar wood of bleachers.

For the Foodie in the Family – $$

If you have a foodie to buy for who would enjoy delving through a wide selection of delicious food and drink, a gift basket can be a simple answer.

For the choice of food hampers, there are two choices. If you have the time and are willing to put in some crafty effort, you can buy an empty basket and fill it with delicious food and drink from their favorite wine to some special sweets and treats. The "do it yourself" option allows you to show how much you know of your special person with a selection you know they will "ooh" and "aah" over as you select items you know they will cherish. There are many options, however, Costco is likely to be one of the best choices as you have a massive selection you can put together (and sample your way around the warehouse!). Just remember to look for items which don’t need chilling and avoid frozen items so it doesn’t go off under the tree.

The second option, especially if this is a last minute rush purchase, is to select a pre-bought gift basket. Again, Costco is your friend as you can select from the Ultimate Holiday Gift Basket for just under $200, and it contains a selection including Ahmad English Tea, Monica's Brownie Cookies, Don Francisco's Family Reserve Breakfast Blend, Café Louvre Chocolate Hazelnut Wafer, Lambertz Exquisite Assorted Cookies, Walkers Chocolates (Milk), New York Style Garlic Panetini, Nonni's Rosemary & Olive Oil Crackers, Sonoma Jacks Garlic & Herb Cheese Wedges, Valley Lahvosh Sesame Rounds Crackers, Hummus Original flavor, and much more!

However, this is not the only choice, with everything from the perfect cheese board to a delightful fruit basket available gift-wrapped and ready to go!

For Someone Who Wants to Be Totally Unique – $$

If you have someone for whom "off the shelf" is not to their taste, you may look at getting a perfumer’s lab. The Complete accord kit from saveonscents.com contains between 140 fragrances, notes, and the materials to create their own unique fragrance. Full instructions are provided so even a perfume amateur will be able to create something truly magical and totally one of a kind! Once you have created the perfect formulation, you can order the ingredients to allow you to make your own when you need it.

Create a fragrance just for you...
