The difficulty in succeeding on YouTube and Side Hustles no one talks about

We all want to succeed on YouTube and earn money. For YouTube you need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours and if you check out a lot of channels you will notice many have 1000 subscribers and getting 35-100 views per video and others such as mine that get 0. Getting that 4000 watch hours is far more difficult than getting the 1000 subscribers. I have already written articles on how to succeed on YouTube but others you may not have heard is to put your videos on social media and do livestreams. This is sage advice with two major flaws. If you do not have a lot of followers on Discord, Twitter, TikTok or any other social media site, not many will see your video. Also, if someone clicks a link to watch you video it does not count to the 4000 watch hours and neither do making shorts. Another problem is people still may not watch.

It really just luck of the draw. I have seen people do livestream on Twitch and YouTube and they are very bland and monotone but they are getting views and watch time while others are very good but they have very few followers and little watch time. If you are introverted like me then you will have a hard time interacting with people on social media which will also make it more difficult to get followers. I make it a point to only leave positive comments and remember a person's comments can only bother you if that person is important to you. Would you really take criticism from someone you would not take advice from?

Making money and growing a channel on YouTube is very difficult but it just comes easy to others. This is true also for side hustles. With Teespring you have to advertise your products and you will need a large social media following to sell anything. Teespring is a good site and use the web address (www.teespring.com/designs) if you choose to make things on Teespring. They are easy to use. It is easier to sell and make money on Redbubble and you can also try Cafepress and Zazzle to sell items. Again you need to have a large social media following to sell items but at least with Redbubble you may make a few sales.

Next is if you want to sell eBooks. Amazon kindle is the largest and I am going to tell you to stay away from their Kindle Select program. Just do not do it. They may accuse you of manipulating the system and provide no evidence and then deactivate your account and ban you for life, since they feel that is fair. It is not like people cannot learn from their mistakes or anything but Amazon and Kobo, which is by Walmart, do not believe in second chances or forgiveness. I got removed from Kobo because they claimed by zombie eBooks were hate speech, I had a character say she hated zombies. Of course they seem fine with books such as the S.C.U.M manifesto and others that talk about harming men and books by racist and people spreading anti-science nonsense as long as they are making a lot of money. You could also try Barnes and Noble's nook press as well as apple books and google books. You still have to have a large social media following to make money. Do not put your eBooks into any library or program that allows free lending or anything that cost your buyers less money. You think you are showing you care about your customers but these site could, not saying they will, mess you up and they have no mercy or forgiveness.

You will hear that making money on YouTube should not be your main goal but who does not want to get paid for their work. Personally I would be happy with just 1000 subscribers and making an extra $100 a month and the same from other sites.
