SIMPLE STEPS TO IMPROVE YOUR OILY SKIN AND GET CLEAR SKIN

Why Oily Skin Forms?

Oily skin is caused by overactive sebaceous glands, which produce too much sebum (oil). This excess oil clogs pores and leads to the formation of blackheads, whiteheads, and other blemishes. Oily skin can be caused by genetics, hormones, and certain medications.

Shiny texture for oily skin:Oily skin tends to be shiny and greasy, so it's important to use lightweight, oil-free formulas that won't clog pores. Look for products that contain matte ingredients such as clay, silica, and zinc oxide.

Flaky Patches:Flaky patches are patches of skin that are dry, scaly and itchy. These patches are often caused by dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, allergies or fungal infections. In some cases, the patches may be red, yellow, white or silvery. Treatment for flaky patches depends on the underlying cause and may involve topical medications, lifestyle changes and other therapies.

Acne Prone Skin:Cleanse your skin twice a day with a gentle cleanser.Use products that are label “non-comedogenic" or “oil-free.”Avoid touching your face with your hands to minimise bacteria transfer.Apply a topical acne treatment containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

Reddish Spots:Reddish spots on the skin could be a sign of many different skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and hives. Other causes of reddish spots include angioma which are benign collections of blood vessels, birthmarks, and infections like scarlet fever.

Cleanse in Moderatoin for Oily Skin:

For oily skin, focus on gentle cleansers that won’t strip away natural oils. Look for products that contain natural or botanical ingredients like tea tree oil or aloe vera. Avoid harsh detergents and products with sulfates or other harsh chemicals as these can irritate the skin. Additionally, using a toner after cleansing can help balance the skin’s pH and prevent excess oil from building up.

Exfoliate Dead Skin Cells:

Exfoliating dead skin cells is an important step in maintaining healthy, glowing skin. Exfoliation involves removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells that can build up over time.

This buildup can make skin look dull, dry, and flaky. Exfoliation can help to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity by removing the buildup of dead skin cells, revealing brighter, smoother skin underneath.

There are many methods of exfoliation such as using a physical or chemical exfoliant using a scrub, or using a face brush.

You must Moisturiser your Skin:

Moisturising your skin is important for keeping it healthy and hydrated. There are many different types of moisturisers available, so it's important to choose one that is best suited for your skin type.

Look for moisturisers that contain antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and minerals. If you have dry or sensitive skin, choose a moisturizer that is oil- or cream-based.

For oily skin, opt for a lighter lotion- or gel-based moisturiser. Be sure to apply moisturiser to your skin after cleansing, and reapply during the day as needed.

Blot that Oil Out:

Depending on the size and type of oil spill, the most effective way to blot out the oil is to use absorbent materials such as paper towels, sawdust, or kitty litter. If the spill is large, you may need to use a shovel to scoop up the oil-soaked material and dispose of it in a safe manner.

You can also use an oil-absorbent pad or booms to contain and absorb the oil. Once the oil has been blotted out, you should use a detergent or degreaser to further clean up the area and remove any remaining oil.

Hands Off Your Face:

Avoid touching your face with your hands throughout the day.Keep your hands away from your nose, mouth, and eyes.Wash your hands with soap and water regularly to reduce the spread of germs.

If you need to scratch an itch, use a tissue or your elbow instead of your hands. When applying skincare products, use a cotton swab or other tool instead of your fingers.

Reduce Stress Levels:

Practice deep breathing: Taking a few minutes to do some deep breathing exercises can help to relax your body and mind, reduce stress levels and improve your overall well-being.

Get enough sleep: Poor quality or inadequate sleep can make you more vulnerable to stress, so make sure you're getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night.

Exercise regularly: Exercise is a great way to reduce stress as it releases endorphins and helps to relax your body and mind. Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise per day.

Eat a healthy diet: Eating a balanced and nutritious diet can help to reduce stress levels by providing your body with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and strong.

Connect with others: Having strong social connections can help to reduce stress levels, so make sure you take time out of your day to connect with friends and family.

Make an appointment to Dermatologist:

If you need to make an appointment to see a dermatologist, you can usually call the office of the dermatologist you wish to see and ask to make an appointment. Alternatively, you can also make an appointment online or through the dermatologist's office website.
