You see it nearly everywhere including on your television set. It seems like everybody is in the mood to makeover their dull, outdated kitchen whether it be for more space or an updated design. But if you are really in need of a kitchen remodel, it will definitely be the home renovation project you will never forget. Here's seven reasons why you should get a new kitchen:

1. So you can love your kitchen again.

Over the last 30 years, I've had my good kitchens as well as bad ones. There's nothing like owning a home and hating the place where you cook and eat. Have you ever found yourself just giving up and getting carryout only to eat in the living room because you can't stand your ugly kitchen? I understand. I've definitely been there. To change this, figure out the main reasons why you dislike your kitchen and see what you can do to change it. Is it too small? Does it not have enough cupboards? Are your countertops old and cracking? Is your kitchen sink sprayer broken and hanging by just the hose? Are your appliances 15 years or older? Write all of these down on your phone or on a blank sheet of paper and begin to see what you would need to do to change some of these dislikes into likes.

2. So you can have more kitchen space.

There's nothing like trying to cook somewhere and everybody is bumping into everybody not including the cat wanting to sit under your feet while you're frying some eggs. If this seems to be a constant thing happening, then maybe you need to add more space to your kitchen. Your work space where you cut veggies, meat or prepare food should be anywhere from 42-48 inches long. If your space is smaller than that, then you definitely need to figure out how to add some more room to your kitchen with extra work space.

3. So you can save more energy.

Older appliances such as a stove or refrigerator can increase your monthly electric bills. Keeping this updated can help you save money while avoiding future appliance repair bills as well.

4. So you can have brand new countertops.

Do you ever find yourself trying to steer your eyes away from your stained, cracked countertops in your kitchen? Maybe it's time to get a new one. I would suggest something heavier and more modern like one that's made from quartz or marble. There are some really nice, new designs out there and the great thing is that they can be inexpensive if you do your research.

5. So you can increase the value of your home.

As you already know, if you update your kitchen and give it a good remodel, it's going to increase the value of your home. If you're wanting to sell it in the near future, there's more of a good chance that someone will fall in love with your house and buy it especially if your kitchen is updated and new for the most part.

6. So you can have more kitchen cabinets or newer ones.

There's nothing like either having not enough kitchen cabinets for more storage space or ones where the cupboard doors are hanging off the hinges exposing all of the shelves behind it. Upgrading your kitchen cabinets and adding some more will give you more storage space as well as a new, sleek design that you will enjoy for years to come.

7. So you no longer have a mess in your kitchen.

Do you have the kind of kitchen where everything is sitting on the countertop because you don't have enough storage space to put those things away? Everyone loves to come home to a clean, organized kitchen so the only thing that you have left to do in order to avoid the mess is to get a new kitchen. Add some more kitchen cabinets, build a pantry or add a lazy Susan. Any ideas that you can come up with to clean everything up so you can enjoy it again.
