Places to Visit in Dwarka:

Dwarkadhish Temple

Also popularly known as Jagat Mandir this temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna and dates back to almost 2,200 years. This holy temple is a part of the holy Char Dham Yatra of India.

As per the traditions this temple is said to have been built by Lord Krishna’s grandson Vajranabh and is visited by numerous thinkers, philosophers, sages and seers including the great propagator of Advaita philosophy, Adi Shankaracharya. Located on the banks of the holy river Gomti this majestic 98th Divya Desam, is built using the Chaulukya style of architecture during the 15th and 16th century.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

This holy and ancient temple is one of the most ancient self-existing Lord Shiva temples in India and houses a magnificent idol dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple springs to life during the eve of Shivratri (this year it is on 4th march 2019).

This temple has numerous mythological and historical relevance attached to it, which makes it, a significant holy shrine for the Hindus of India as well as abroad. The temple has also found a lot of mention in the holy Hindu books like the Puranas.

Beyt Island

Situated at a distance of 30 kms from the main town of Dwarka this small and scenic island replete with corals, reefs and a few other temples. This island was the prime port prior to the development of Okha.

This is a wonderful option for individuals or families and groups of friends looking to spend some relaxing time among the glimmering blue sky and the silky white sandy beaches. If you want an even more thrilling experience here you can also pitch a tent by the bonfire here and sleep under the open skies.

Dwarka Beach

Places to Visit in Somnath:

Somnath Temple

Known for being one of the most highly revered Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is known for its opulent beauty and expert craftsmanship that went in to making this piece of art.

Although the temple has suffered a lot of damage and reconstruction in the past, the spirituality here remains unmatched to anywhere else. The temple’s current construction was finished with the expert guidance and help of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during 1951.

Panch Pandava Gufa

Discovered in the year 1949 by late baba Narayandas, the location of the temple allows the visitors to have a picturesque view of the surrounding. As the name suggests the temple is dedicated to the five Pandava brothers. This place is known for offering some of the most panoramic views of the surroundings.

Triveni Sangam Temple

The temple here marks the confluence of three holy rivers – Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati and the place where these rivers join the mighty Arabian Sea. This Sangam is believed to be a sacred spot where Hindu pilgrims take a holy dip to attain moksha. Located in close proximity are the temples of Gita and Laxminarayan and a must visit destination for every devout Hindu pilgrim.

Suraj Mandir

Situated in close proximity to the holy confluence point of Triveni Ghats this is known for being one of the very few temples that are dedicated to the sun god. The temple houses some of the most elaborately carved engravings of elephants, lions and other such animals and birds on the walls and pillars.

This temple is one of the most rarely available holy sites which is dedicated to the spirit of nature and praises the age old heritage of the Hindu religion.

Places to Visit in Diu:

Naida Caves

Located right outside the fort of Diu this cave showcases a complicated and an intense network of tunnels that are connected together with a range of stairs. These caves are a natural opening under the ground which goes on till the zone of light.

These caves are a clear representation of the fascinating nature since these were formed as a result of the continuous geographical processes.

Nagoa Beach

Dotted and lined neatly with palm trees this beach is one of the most recommended beaches in Diu and people can be seen here soaking in the sun, relaxing their time away, walking along the beach shores or indulging in some watersports activities this place is also an ideal destination for witnessing a magnificent and glorious sunrise or sunset.

Diu Fort

Built by the Portuguese during the British rule this fort is situated in the westernmost coast of the Indian subcontinent. This enchanting and mesmerizing fort offers some of the most spectacular views of the unending, glimmering blue sea as well as of the surroundings.

One of the most unique and interesting feature of this fort is the wonderfully tall light house and is always on every traveller’s bucket list due to its architectural brilliance.

St. Paul Church

This church which is named after the Apostle of Jesus, this church is known for being one of the best representations of Baroque architecture in India. This church is located at the Gulf of Khambhat and its construction can be traced back to 1610 AD.

The church also successfully showcases the brilliant and elaborate craftsmanship that went into its creation.
