Three Ways You Can Make Money by Doing What You Do Anyways, Shopping, and Even Grocery Shopping

When we’re kids, shopping seems easy. Mom or Dad go to the store and get things. You ask them for something that looks delicious, and they either say yes or no. You don’t really understand everything that goes into it, especially if you’re a family on a budget. Back in the '90s and even the early '00s it was all about the coupons. A show had even been made called Extreme Couponing. Now, they have apps for that, and several of these apps are extremely useful.

Rewards Programs

Stores will often have rewards programs. You sign up with a phone number, email, and your information, and then you usually enter your phone number in or use a card during the time you check out. I will use Meijer as an example, as I am most familiar with Meijer. Once you sign up with MPerks, you are able to login to the app. There you can clip coupons that will automatically be used while checking out. You are also able to earn rewards. At first, it’s something like earning $2 off after you spend $150. This is great, especially if you do all of your household grocery shopping here. After awhile of using MPerks, they start to give you bonuses, like a free candy bar, or a free notebook, etc. Always check your local grocery store for their local rewards or perks cards. Right off hand I know that Meijer, Kroger, Hyvee, and Price Chopper all have their own versions of rewards cards. Hyvee will even give you cents off your gas fill ups at their gas stations. A friend of mine was able to get her gas for only $0.55 a gallon. Also, at first the coupons usually start out as generic things that the programs believe every household uses, but as you start to use the programs more and more, the coupons will start to become more personalized to what you purchase.

Ibotta

Ibotta is a great app to use. At first, I was very skeptical and unbelieving that it would actually work. But you are able to get $0.25 for every receipt that you scan. Imagine that every time you go shopping, you’ve immediately already made $0.25 just on the receipt. Through the app, you can go to a store that fits you and then find rebates that they have. I have seen amounts that range anywhere from $0.25-$1.55. I know what you’re probably thinking. That doesn’t seem like a whole lot of money. Well, let me tell you, it adds up. At first, I wasn’t making a lot, but then I saw my sister getting $20 gift card after $20 gift card and so I tried again and really gave it a shot. In this last month of November alone, I have made $42.25 just by doing what I do all the time, shopping. Most families go grocery shopping every two weeks. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to make money just from doing something you do all the time anyways?

Ebates

Ebates is another one that many people have heard of, but aren’t sure what to expect. I will be honest in saying that I don’t have a lot of experience with Ebates, but I intend to use it quite a lot during this shopping holiday season. You do have to shop online for the rebates to work. The really great thing that I’ve seen about Ebates so far is that not only do you get a certain percentage cash back, like 4-10 percent for instance, but most stores also offer an extra incentive, such as free shipping, or an extra 25 percent off on it. If you can utilize it right, you can make shopping a great deal easier on yourself. I’ve read many reviews that absolutely love Ebates, so I am looking quite forward to testing it out soon.
