Looking for a gig or side hustle to earn a little extra cash? Got an unbelievable thirst for some quality screen time?

You may be the perfect candidate for a binge-watching promotion.

That's right, one of the latest trends in small business, internet marketing is to offer applicants the opportunity to get paid to watch ungodly amounts of their favorite show.

So, if you're feeling lucky, step right up!

Which TV Shows and Movies Can I Watch?

Curious about what you can be paid to watch? Well, promotions like these have been running for the last couple years, and the list keeps getting longer. Check out this list:

Marvel movies - Prior to 'Endgame' coming out in March of 2019, applicants were offered $1,000 to stream all 20 previous Marvel movies.

The Office - Are you a fan of Michael Scott? To commemorate the 15 year anniversary of this cult classic, US Dish offered a cool grand for watching 15 hours of the show.

Disney+ - This Disney "dream job" paid a $200 gift card and a 1 year Disney+ subscription, simply for watching a Disney movie. Jungle Book anyone?

True crime documentaries - For the detectives in the bunch, this promo required that you stream crime documentaries for 24 hours straight!

Harry Potter - Not to be left out of the fun, the Hogwart crowd could happily win $1,000 in this promo, simply by watching all the Harry Potter movies (in order!).

Star Wars - Could any conversation about cinema be complete without Star Wars? You could've made $1,000 by watching all 9 Star Wars movies with this dream job (Like an idiot, I just did it for free with my kids!).

Memorial Day war movies - In a tribute to those who have fallen, a Memorial Day dream job offered a vet $1,000 to watch 10 of the best war movies over Memorial Day weekend.

MeatEater - Like hunting and fishing? This promotion offered $1,000 and some incredible gear to somebody for binge-watching all 8 seasons of the popular "field to fork" show MeatEater.

Any show you want - As if watching TV wasn't already easy, this promo made it easier, by actually letting you pick which show you wanted to binge on. Talk about cush!

What's In It For The Hosting Company?

If you're wondering why a company would offer something like this, you're not alone. Lot's of people have asked "what's the catch?"

Turns out however, that usually the only catch is that you'll have a hard time winning. In true, "low odds" fashion, with so many applicants it would take a small miracle for you to be picked. A handful of the promotions also require the applicant to post a picture or some updates on social media of them actually in the act of their binge-watching.

For the company that's hosting the dream job, promotions such as these can generate a significant amount of "buzz" and increased internet traffic. Additionally, an applicant is usually entering their email for future marketing, so there is some value for the company there.

How To Win:

Apart from being terribly lucky (like, playing the Lotto lucky), promotions like these just require you to fill out the application, and state why you should be chosen.

Some of the promotion winners are selected completely at random, while others are chosen by judges--read the fine print to get an idea.

Best of luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor! (hey, maybe Hunger Games will be next... ;-)
