Gold Leaf Flower Vase

You can make a simple vase look magical and interesting by decorating it with gold leaf. Let’s check out how:

Materials Required

  • Paintbrushes
  • Gold leaf
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Metal Leaf Adhesive
  • Straight Glass Vase

Procedure—Start by cleaning the straight glass vase. Then, use painter’s tape to tape off the area that will be covered in gold leaf. Next, apply the gilding glue to the vase. Make sure you apply glue as per the instructions.

After gluing the vase, cover all the areas of glue with gold leaf. Gently smooth out the gold leaf with a soft brush. You can also use gold leaf powder instead of gold leaf.

Once the leaf is set in place, brush away the excess gold to make the magic happen!

Gold Leafed Glass Trinket Tray

You can write the desired message on the tray using gold leaf on top using a thin fan brush.

Materials Required

  • Gold Leaf Paint
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Dry-erase marker
  • Plain glass Trinket Tray

Procedure—Start out by writing your desired message onto the glass tray with a dry-erase marker. Then, flip the tray and trace your words with gold leaf paint using a thin-tipped brush.

Now, brush an abstract design over the top of the gold leaf by using a big brush in a criss-cross pattern. You can also go more subtle with fan-brush strokes in any colour you’d like. After the design is dry, use a light brush to back it up with a solid colour.

Once the solid coat dries, your gold leafed glass trinket tray is ready.

Gold leafed Glass Trinket Dishes would make awesome luxury corporate gifts.

Striped Gold leaf Wooden Bowl

You can add a little drama to your old wooden bowl by giving it a gold leaf makeover.

Materials Required

  • Gold leaf sheet
  • Wooden Bowl
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Brushes
  • Glue

Procedure—Start by creating stripes on the wooden bowl with super thin pattering tape. If you don’t get fairly straight lines, use a thin piece of tape as your ruler.

Be careful with the tape as it takes time to keep a straight but ‘curved’ line. After you have installed the tapes, push down the edges of the tape with your fingernail.

Then, apply the glue on the bowl, and wait the appropriate amount of time for it to be tacky. Once the glue is nice and ready, start applying gold leaf leaf sheets to cover the area.

Wait for some time to make sure the glue is set. Once the gold leaf is adhered, gingerly remove the tape, and wait for the outcome.

Gold Leaf Wrapping Paper

You can use gold leaf wrapping paper to make your presents look special and thoughtful.

Materials Required

  • Gold leaf Transfer Sheets
  • Plain wrapping paper
  • Tape Runner
  • Debit/ Credit Card

Procedure—Start by creating a pattern on the wrapping paper using the tape runner. Then, place the gold leaf transfer sheets on the top of the paper.

Use a debit/ credit card to rub over the leaf where it is covering the leaf. As you do it, you’ll notice that the leaf has started to separate from the sheet.

Next, peel off the sheet, and admire the fancy leafed pattern you have created. If you aren’t happy with the pattern or find areas that you have missed, just paint it with the tape, put the sheet down, and rub it over again.
