I Tell Myself A Story
I've always found comfort in stories and storytelling. Words are my happy place. Whenever I am overwhelmed with emotion or unable to deal with life, I turn to words. Sometimes I read a book, something heavy with plot and intricate characters and worlds I can get lost in. Most of the time, though, I turn whatever is plaguing me into a plot point in my mind for a story I control. I write the story out in my head or on paper. Every time I do this, I make sure I come out on top. I always end up feeling good and empowered by what I created, and it helps me move on from it.
