Not gonna lie, setting boundaries can be fucking hard. And that can be for several reasons. Perhaps you're scared to hurt the other person's feelings, or maybe quite the opposite; you're scared they may react harshly and in turn hurt your feelings. Either way, saying no to people is taxing, especially when you do not have the skills to do so, or even know where to start.
dre.amerwithapenPublished 2 years ago in LifehackWhat weakness does martial arts have in self defense that people should be aware of and what is a better optimal choice?
For many years and many generations alot of people debate on which style of martial arts is a better self defense than the others. Arts like karate, Wing chun Kung fu, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian jujitsu, judo, boxing, wrestling etc... Truth is there is no such thing as this style is better than the other. Let’s break down the top seven arts one by one…. 1.Karate : is a great offense for punch’s and kicks the one problem about that style is they tend to drop there hand low while punching from there waist and kicking with minimal force that is barely stuns your attacker depending on what part of the body you strike at your attacker and on top of that the stance is to wide. 2. Wing chun/ Kung fu : is a good counter attack for quick offense and distance closing the only down side is the stance is too limited and your exposing your neck too much when you attack forward with volleyball punches you lack proper protection for defense when your attacker blocks the attack.. 3. Taekwondo : is good for flexibly and distance when it comes to using your legs a lot but lacks keeping the hand up for on coming attacks especially since not many attackers is gonna stand there and let you do flips and spinning attacks. 4. Muay Thai : is a great for aggressiveness and mental toughness involving the elbow and knee attack defense punches and kicks most people would agree that this art is a better optimal for self defense which is not a bad thing however the problem with the style is not gonna protect you from on coming attacks like bats, knives, and multiple attacking people on top of that the stance most attacks from Thai fighters are to flat footed and slow with there kick and punches no matter how powerful there attack is so depending on the situation using Muay Thai in self defense is still not enough. 5. Boxing: like Muay Thai is also a good self defense option involving the the technique of punches and footwork and good for mental toughness. But the only down side like Muay Thai it lacks basic awareness when it comes to dealing with not one but multiple people so throwing jab cross multiple times is not enough especially when you throw your punches it at the straight center line on top striking one part of the body the the upper four head is is a recipe for disaster due to the it being the hardest part of the body that results in your knuckles being broken and if there is more people you leaving yourself vulnerable due to your fist being jacked up and unable to continue punching.. 6.Brazilian jujitsu : is a great grappling system to use in self defense due to many types of different locks in the technique but the down side to it is it is only effective in a one on one situation if you having to restrain one person and other is attacking you the you will get hurt bad.. 7.Wrestling: is a great combat ground work sport due to the quick athletic and powerful take down, but the down side like Brazilian Jujitsu using this art in a one on one situation is gonna be effective but with multiple people attacking at the same time I’d rethink that.. 8. Judo: is a great martial art system that is used for take downs grappling and quick body throws. Like jiu-jitsu and wrestling it’s only used for one on one attack not multiple attacks you can’t throw someone and defend at the same time. Conclusion: Now that we break down the top martial arts and weaknesses what is the better optimal self defense? All martial arts is a good for defense but with each weakness being exposed it would be recommend that you train in Krav Maga. Krav Maga is an israelí martial art that is created and used for the military special forces and police to fight off multiple people with or with weapons. Training involve pressure points and other weak points in the body they train to incompassionate destroy and kill the human body quick and in seconds. It’s a very deadly form of martial arts that is recommended for even females to use to fight off potential robbery , murder or rape..
