It's 2020. Everyone and their grandmother's aware of global warming and, more importantly, viscerally aware of humanity's role in speeding it up. These days more people than ever are actively taking steps to help save the environment but at this time of year, the natural stresses of Christmas make it easy to forget about the environment and we unknowingly allow excess wastes to pile up.

But nobody wants to be a grinch. And rightly so. Christmas is a time to take it easy and splurge on ourselves a little. Nobody wants to ruin the most wonderful time of year by nagging their friends and families about their traditions and festive choices.

So what better way to remind them than a wonderful, eco-friendly gift?

A great way to keep the holiday spirit alive and well, whilst simultaneously saving the environment, here's five awesome Irish businesses to get the perfect gift for your loved ones this holiday season.

1. reuzi

"At reuzi, we aim to raise awareness on the environmental problems posed by single-use materials while making the solutions accessible, and empowering people like you & I to be part of the change."

Based in Dublin, Ireland, the selection eco-friendly reuzi offers is unlike any other from cat toys to make-up removers. The best part? Reuzi offers unique gifts and gift bags ideal for Christmas.

After founder, Sheelin Conlon saw first hand the devastation of plastic pollution on the beaches around Asia she decided to found 'The Kind', another amazing business in Ireland dedicated to saving the Earth. They feature countless gift options from tons of categories, every single one eco-friendly and beneficial to the environment.
