especially if you’ve been living in a house all along can be a novel experience for a family or individual. It will take some time to get used to a place without a garden right outside your doorstep. But then again there are those luxuries too that will leave you more at ease than you were before. Here’s how you can learn to settle into your new home apartment faster.

Inspect the apartment first

Before you move into any apartments in Colombo, be sure to visit the empty place and take pictures of every room. Later inspect them to see if there is anything that will need to be fixed up before you move in.

Make the interiors comfy

Since the interiors of the apartment have been predesigned according to the previous owner’s taste you might not be able to change much. But what you can do is change the colours of the walls perhaps and set up a few of the fittings you prefer. This will make your home-to-be even more welcoming when it’s time to move in. You will also feel a sense of satisfaction that there is an element of yourself at your new apartment. If you are moving into a modern apartment like those at TRI-ZEN, take some time to familiarise yourself with the high-tech fittings so you know exactly how to handle them.

Cleaning up

Once all your interiors have been done the way you like it, then all that’s left to do is clean up. When the apartment is empty is the perfect time to clean up before your boxes get stacked up inside the hall and rooms.

Moving in

Once all the preparation is done its time to move in. The hard part begins now! But things can go a little more smoothly if you plan it out better. Once the truck arrives with your boxes and furniture, directly bring them in and stack them up in their relevant rooms or other spaces instead of having them all piled up in the living room. This will make it a little bit easier to unpack as well.

The first set up

Before you do up anything else, make sure to get your bed in order. It will help if you can move the bed directly into the room so that it won’t be hidden somewhere behind stacks of boxes or heavy furniture. Why set up the bed first? Well, if you’ve not been through this process before, you should know that moving day is extremely tiring. You will be running back and forth from your old home to the new one seeing that things are loaded into the lorry in order and that boxes are unloaded and placed in the correct spots. Once it’s all over, the first thing you’ll want to do is to catch a little bit of shut-eye for your body to recover.

Start with the essentials

Before switching on your creative side for the arrangement of the living, focus on the essential items first so that you will be at ease while you get the rest done as t slow pace. Get started with the bathroom. Unpacking items that go in here aren’t all that hard and there will be minimal arranging going into this as well. Next, get to the kitchen! With all that energy being used up, you are going to work up an appetite soon enough. For this, you will need to set up your kitchen. Try your best to have all the spices where you want them and fix everything up properly. This will save you the trouble of rearranging later as well.
