Working on saving the environment should not be an isolated task or a task that should just be done a single day but something that is done and thought of every day. We are at that stage of environmental vulnerability that we can’t delay saving the environment. It should be done and it should be done now. You spend most of your time at home and you should, therefore, start there. Here are a few tips on how you can do that:-

1. Save energy- All of us crave warmth to winter and cool in summer, however altering the setting by a couple of degrees or turning it off and opening the windows has a colossal effect. Doing likewise in winter helps as well. The electricity bill also gets considerably reduced. That is a gigantic reduction in investment. So open windows and unplug the appliances or keep the temperature at an environmental sound level to reduce energy consumption and you will be stunned how rapidly you become accustomed to it.

2. Go solar- Going solar means plugging all of your appliances to solar panels and using the power given through the energy released by the sun. It is the greener way to live in your home and you save energy and the environment by a great margin. Solar panel installation in Brisbane can be easily done as there are several companies that you can help you with the same. These companies supply and service solar, solar hot water, on and off-grid Battery systems to customers. You don’t need to unplug your devices every time to have peace of mind, just install solar panels and eliminate your electricity bills by a considerable margin.

3. The appliances you use- Nowadays, the manufacturers also understand the dire need of saving the environment and therefore make environmentally sound goods. There is a star system in appliances, which determines how much energy it consumes. Make sure that you use an appliance with a five-star rating. This helps energy conservation to a large level.

4. House plants- Growing plants in your home does not just come under decorating your home. It helps the environment too. We should keep finding an opportunity to plant trees and plants. You can include these plants in your living room or bedroom. It adds a certain vintage aesthetic value to your interior decoration. It also leaves you with a feeling of freshness in your mind which you cannot substitute with an artificial decoration of any kind.

5. Recycle- Reduce, reuse and recycle. This is the motto of many environmental organizations and should be yours too. You should always recycle the waste so that it can be reused in the future. Just recycling is not enough. Recycling efficiently is very important as it helps the environment and goes a long way in waste management.

6. Lights out- It is technically the basic rule which is told to be followed to even school children. Most of the energy wastage happens because people leave the lights on in rooms they are not even using. Sometimes, it’s the light of the bathroom switched on the whole night or when people leave the house for a couple of hours. This wastes energy on a large scale. Remember to turn the lights off when you leave a room and send this message to the future generations as well.

7. Light bulbs- Use LED lights instead of the traditional bulbs that are in circulation. Using LED bulbs save energy which goes a long way in helping the environment. They are 10 times more efficient and reduce electricity bills considerably.
