Are you renovating the apartment? In this case, the first thing you think about is how long it will take. Depending on the number of people involved, the changes you want, and their complexity, the duration of the renovation varies.

Don't overshadow the joy of bringing fresh air to your home just because the process could be lengthy.

Tips for renovating the apartment

Pre-construction

The preliminary stage of renovation: 1–3 months

Contrary to expectations and beliefs that things are much simpler, there are many things to consider before you start renovating.

For example, the fact that you have to temporarily move out of the house, pack everything up, pack it up, and do just that, just like in the case of a permanent move, to leave the space empty and available to those who are going to work.

You will be surprised, but it will take about a month to find the right people who understand exactly what you want, and set the work schedule. Don't rush things, you just want to be happy with the result!

The stage of obtaining construction permits: uncertain duration

If you want to make major changes, you need to know that you will have to run. It is mandatory to have approval for any change that could affect the safety of the neighbors.

Obtaining approvals can be the biggest obstacle, but you should not be discouraged or give up on what you want, just be patient. This stage is usually the one that lasts the longest.

If in some cases the situation is resolved in less than two weeks, in others … it could take up to a few months.

Stage of purchasing materials: between a few days and a few weeks

Once you've obtained the approvals, it's time to get the materials ready. Take a few days, make a list of everything you need and place your entire order.

Some products arrive in a few days, others may arrive in a few weeks. Also, if you choose to buy them yourself, make sure you have them all before the work team starts renovating. You don't know exactly what materials they will need, nor do you want to go shopping every day.

Discuss with the hired team and decide together what to buy. Small unforeseen details can appear, but ideally, there should be as few as possible!

Construction

Stage of plumbing and electrical installations: about a week

Allow at least 5 days to change the plumbing and electrical installations.

Although everything can take much less time, depending on how professional the team is, such details are important and cannot be rushed. To be sure, spend a week on plumbing and electrical.

Floor installation stage: about two weeks

If you change the parquet or tiles in one room, you can expect everything to be ready in one day.

However, if you are thinking of doing this all over the house, you need at least 12 days invested in this process. The installation of parquet or sandstone tiles requires meticulousness so that it is not necessary to reassemble them after only a few months!

Redecorating

When it comes to redecorating your home, you should allow about 10 days to complete an apartment, even if it is small, with no more than two rooms. Installing cabinets, electronics, and lighting fixtures is not that simple. This whole process takes time, patience, and skill.

Post-construction

When the renovation is complete, take a day to test the new space. Check the doors, drawers, switches in detail and make sure everything is in order. If retouching is no longer required, you can make the final payment and enjoy the change and your new home.

Although it can be expensive, a renovation is always welcome, because it not only changes the air in the house but also the mood of the whole family.
