We all know how important it is to clean sanitary ware, the kitchen counter, the table, and other such things in the house, but did you know that microbes hide in places you would never have thought of before?
We will tell you in the following what they are so that you can give them the right attention whenever you clean.
So, here are some items in the house that are full of germs, but you probably forgot to disinfect them!
1. Kitchen utensils
A dish sponge is useful in the kitchen, without it we can not do our job properly. However, no matter how well we wash it with detergent and squeeze it after each use, there are still dangerous microbes that can cause various types of infections.
You're probably wondering how you can fix the problem without changing the sponge every few days, if not daily, depending on the volume of dishes washed? Here are two solutions: either wash it with a little chlorine bent with water after each use and then rinse it well, or put it in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Careful! The sponge must be wet in the latter case, so as not to catch fire.
2. The spaces between the appliances and the kitchen furniture
There is a maximum distance of 2 cm between the stove and the kitchen worktop, so you probably think that there will be no food scraps that have escaped you without noticing, dust, and, of course, a lot of germs.
Therefore, it is good that when you vacuum the whole house, do not forget about these hidden places.
3. Textile bags
It is good to think about the environment and to use biodegradable materials, but this does not mean that you can ignore the attention you have to pay to your health, but also to that of your family. Therefore, it is good to periodically wash textile bags, as you do with clothing items.
4. Refrigerator drawers
You certainly don't forget to clean the fridge, but what about the removable drawers and storage shelves? They must be disinfected just as often because even though the temperature in the refrigerator is kept low, this does not mean that there are no cold-resistant bacteria.
5. Microbes from above
When you wipe the dust off, do you think about climbing on a chair or a ladder to clean the top of the cabinets? What about the window frames? If you answered both questions negatively, it is time to pay more attention to detail.
6. Ceiling fan
Just as you clean chandeliers and other lighting fixtures, so is the ceiling fan. Its blades, although sometimes moving, can accumulate dust and other deposits on their surface that reaches the air you breathe when you turn on the device. So wipe them off as often as possible.
7. Small electronic devices
Not only large electronics and appliances should be considered when cleaning, but also smaller items such as remote controls or headphones.
Wipe them with a disinfectant solution such as the one used to clean the computer monitor and you will get rid of worries! Don't forget that you have to use the same method in the case of the mobile phone, especially since you use it quite often every day.
8. Broomstick
Indeed, the broom helps you get rid of crumbs or dust, but it also needs to be cleaned sometimes, because a lot of dust mites and germs can accumulate between the threads that make up the end of the broom.
9. Hats, scarves, and gloves
Whether worn daily or regularly, such accessories can become real germ nurseries. Just coughing or sneezing, putting your scarf and gloves on your mouth or nose, is a way to fill them with germs. For this reason, it is good to wash them weekly.
10. Bag for gym equipment
Just like every time you come back from the gym you wash your equipment, it's good to do the same with the bag you kept it in, to make sure there are no bacteria or odors left.
If the bag is made of machine washable material, do not hesitate to do so, but if this is not possible, use a disinfectant spray or a cloth soaked in baking soda.
Home hygiene is just as important as personal hygiene if you want to have a healthy family and avoid various bacterial and fungal infections or even allergies.
