As a reader, gift-giver, and hopeful receiver of good gifts: I personally would love to receive any one of the gifts on this list. But, no two readers are exactly alike and that is why I made this list to help you find the perfect match for the bookish friend or family member on your Christmas list. Say no to generic gifts, let's get personal!

The Cozy Type Reader

These types of readers require a nest-like, cozy environment to get into their favorite books. These readers are very serious about creating good vibes: warm beverages nearby, gentle background noises (or none), candles burning... the works. You might think "coffee mug!" And maybe there is a coffee mug that is absolutely perfect for your particular recipient, but as a general rule: coffee and tea drinkers already have their favorite mugs. There are other options when it comes to buying for this kind of reader that they may not buy for themselves or receive often:

Pajamas or loungewear are on track with the fuzzy socks idea, but way more exciting to receive! These cozy pajamas for women are a favorite of mine. I have the shorts version myself and love them! With these, there are so many colors to choose from so you can choose a color that is perfect for your loved one.

Weighted blankets are expensive, but your "cozy" friend will love this gift if they don't already own one. Weighted blankets help you to relax and lower anxiety, making them great gifts for anyone this year, not only those who love to cuddle up with a book. If you are wanting to splurge on something special, this is the option for you!

Favorite teas or coffee. Choose something they wouldn't buy on a normal occasion from a specialty shop! I have been given this nutcracker blend tea for Christmas over the years that I am in love with!

The Rory Gilmore Type Reader

This is an oddly specific but incredibly accurate description of a lot of readers. This is the reader that is always reading on the go and never goes anywhere without a book. She/he has a long list of to-be-read books, loves the classics, and is collector type. This reader likely has a very organized Goodreads account and is open to reading almost anything, so finding a book to gift them shouldn't be too difficult if that is what you choose!

Collectible editions, like these, are always a good idea. This type of reader may collect editions of their favorite book or books!

Big ole' tote bags for carrying around the many books they are reading all at once! I love this one from Madewell--it has been on my wish list for years and is totally splurge-worthy!

Audible subscription. This is a good option for the advantageous reader that is always reading more than one book at a time. The option to listen to some of the books that they want to read opens up more opportunities to complete their to-be-read list.

The Fandom Reader

This reader is a fanatic about one author, genre, or particular series. Maybe she loves Jane Austen? Strictly reads from the fantasy genre? Absolutely will not stop reading Harry Potter over and over again? For this reader, you're going to want to go with something that fits this person's particular obsession, while avoiding the obvious choices.

Harry Potter, for example, has endless amounts of merchandise dedicated to the fandom. What will be most significant to your recipient is an item they wouldn't come across in a big box store. Try finding personalized, handmade gifts on Etsy, like this personalized Harry Potter bookmark or this Pride and Prejudice tote bag.

The Bookstagrammer

This is your bookish friend that takes amazing photos, coordinates their outfits with the cover of their current read, and is always the first to read everything. For this type of reader, you are going to want to match your gift to their Instagram grid (maybe that sounds crazy to you, but to your Bookstagram friend... this detail will be extra special).

This "Bookish" hoodie is the perfect gift. It's trendy and practical, it will look amazing in photos, and there are different color options! I would wear this every day!

This page anchor is 1) just really cool, for anyone! 2) perfect for holding a page open when you're snapping the perfect photo outlay for Instagram! This one is a bit of a splurge but is on sale at the time of this publication.

Book of the month subscriptions is a good idea for any reader, but this type of reader especially. This way, they always have new books coming in! Again, an expensive gift, but one that will be absolutely perfect for them!
