What parts does a swimming pool equipment include?

If we want to count the minimum equipment of a standard pool, we can categorize them into the following three groups, all of which are essential to have a standard pool with quality water.

  • Swimming pool and jacuzzi water heating equipment
  • Equipment for disinfection and of swimming pool and jacuzzi water
  • Swimming pool and jacuzzi water purification equipment

Types of pool water heating equipment

There are different types of pool water heating equipment. According to the type of pool and the standard temperature of the pool, you can use any type of heating source to heat the pool water. Types of pool equipment for heating pool water include:

  • heat exchanger
  • heating package
  • Gas heater
  • electrical heater
  • Heating pump

Below, we will give a brief introduction of each of the types of equipment mentioned above.

Heat exchanger and pool boiler

Pool heat exchanger is a very effective and economical way to heat swimming pool water. The heat exchanger "takes the temperature from the boiler and transfers it to the pool water during a process. If your pool heating system is sufficient, the exchangers use this heating system to transfer heat to the pool water. The heat exchanger has an outer shell that contains a multitude of small perforated tubes. A heat exchanger is a device that transfers heat between two or more substances (often fluids) with different temperatures. In most exchangers, there is a solid wall to prevent mixing between the two materials that are in contact with the two fluids, and heat transfer occurs through thermal conduction within it. Pool heat exchangers are one of the most common pool water heating equipment. These types of equipment are more useful as water heaters for home pools. By transferring heat between the hot water of the boiler and the pool water, the temperature of the pool water increases and the pool water is gradually heated. In swimming pools that use a heat exchanger to heat the pool water, in addition to determining the thermal capacity, a suitable heating boiler should also be selected.

Pool heating package

In many pools, it is not possible to use a pool converter due to the lack of a central heating engine room. Or, due to lack of space and limitations, it is not possible to use a heat exchanger. The pool heating package is actually a pool water heating engine that has all the necessary equipment for heating in one package. In addition to heating the pool water, the pool heating package can be used to heat other parts of the pool, including changing rooms, saunas, toilets and bathrooms. Pool heating packages can use gas, diesel and electricity. For this reason, these packages can be used in any region. Among the advantages of the pool heating package are:

  • Occupying little space
  • Less fuel consumption
  • More efficiency
  • Good heat production
  • It has different temperatures and can be changed at certain times
  • Can be used in all types of pools

Gas pool heater

A gas pool heater burns natural gas or propane in a combustion chamber. The basis of the work of these devices is the direct impact of the flame on the pipe containing the pool water. A gas heater does not need sunlight or air temperature to work. Gas pool heaters are relatively expensive. Propane costs twice as much as natural gas, increasing your costs accordingly. The gas pool heater costs less to install and maintain, and it does not need sunlight or hot air to work, and it heats the pool quickly. But these heaters are less compatible with the environment and are expensive for initial implementation and have a shorter lifespan. These heaters are less efficient than solar heating systems. The big advantage of gas heaters is their small volume compared to a full engine room, and of course the initial purchase cost and the price of a gas pool heater is a bit high.

Electric pool heater

An electric pool heater uses electric current to heat the pool water. It should be said that the basis of the work of electric heaters is based on the heating of internal heating elements by electric energy. When the electric current enters the internal coils, it causes the coil to heat up and then the water around the coil is heated. It cools the coil. Due to the high consumption of electricity by electric heaters, they are used for heating small home pools and for more treatment. These heaters are less expensive than other pool heating equipment at the stage of implementation and purchase, but they have a high monthly operating cost. They also work independently of temperature and are compatible with the environment. They also have a long lifespan. Electric pool heaters are inefficient and slow to heat up the pool and require heavy wiring and large amp circuit breakers.

Pool heat pump

Another way to heat the pool water is to use a pool heat pump. A heat pump is an excellent choice for keeping pool water warm. The pool heat pump increases the temperature of the water passing through it by using electric energy and warm ambient air. The heat pump sucks air from outside and uses it to heat the pool. As a result, this heat pump is used when the air outside is hot. The required air temperature of the heat pump must be at least 7 degrees Celsius for the heat pump to be able to work. Although heat pumps require more investment, their consumption costs are relatively lower over time. A heat pump uses half the amount of gas and a quarter of the electricity used to heat your pool water. As a result, if he uses pool heat pumps to heat his pool, it will be cost-effective for you, because the high cost of a pool heat pump will be compensated by the consumption costs.

Swimming pool and jacuzzi water cleaning equipment

Two distinct and separate methods are used to remove impurities from the water of a swimming pool. In the first method, the sequential dilution system allows the removal of organic waste daily using sieve baskets inside the skimmer, and the swimming pool and jacuzzi filters are divided into three types: "sand filter", "cartridge filter" and "diatom filter". But overall, sand filters and cartridge filters, and then pump separate the rest of the waste from the water circulation.

Disinfectants are usually used in the form of hypochlorous acid (HCLO) to kill infectious microorganisms. In addition to these two methods, the activity of pool owners in cleaning the pool, such as using nets to catch garbage and cleaning its sides, can be effective in water purification.

Disinfection equipment for pool and jacuzzi water

Pool water quality improvement equipment can be divided into three basic, standard and advanced categories. This equipment generally disinfects the pool water, prevents the formation of algae or sludge, and creates clean and high-quality water. An important point is that the disinfection equipment is used as a supplement to the pool and hot tub purification system so that the water quality reaches the standard level.

Basic level pool disinfection equipment includes floating chlorine tablets and chlorine tablets. The operation of this product is very simple and by floating on water and placing the pill inside it, it carries out disinfection and disinfection operations.

Standard pool water disinfection equipment includes chlorine injection pumps. Chlorine injection pumps are similar to mechanical floats, but they are placed in the treatment line and the amount of chlorine injection is determined by using the volume. For indoor pools up to 150 cubic meters in volume and outdoor pools up to 80 cubic meters, 2 kg linear chlorine is recommended.

In the classification of advanced pool disinfection equipment, it is recommended to use salt water chlorine devices and UV (ultraviolet rays) devices, which greatly improve the quality of water and make it free of any microbes, bacteria, fungi and microorganisms.

Swimming pool and jacuzzi water purification equipment

Pool water purification equipment includes pool pump and sand filter (or other types of filters). Our recommendation is to use special pool pumps with plastic bodies because they are resistant to chlorine and pool water additives. Also, fiberglass filters with 5-way valves, in addition to being more efficient than old galvanized filters, also occupy less space.
